  • In this video, Dr. Shanty Paul explains the simple permanent tissues (parenchyma, collenchyma and sclerenchyma) in detail, using simple animations. This video is primarily designed for class 11 biology students (NCERT) but it will be useful for all those who are interested in learning biology. Also this video will be very helpful for students preparing for NEET/ AIIMS/ KCET exams.

    I am from Srilanka. I watched this video fully and you have done it very nicely. English pronunciation is bit different than we pronounce here for some words like parenchyma ( we prounce it parankima but you parankayma ). I dont know which one is correct. But This is very nice video and you have provided here so many details that we had not known. Thanks Dr.

    Well, the main function of parenchyma cells is to produce, store and transport food.
    Also, Collenchyma cells are usually living, and have only a thick primary cell wall made up of cellulose and pectin.

      @@fd4399 Ground, dermal and vascular are tissue systems which means they are made up of different tissues performing one common function. A group of structurally and functionally similar cells make up tissue for eg: parenchyma tissue, while different tissues performing one common function form a tissue system, for eg: vascular tissue system comprising xylem and phloem tissues.
