I’m 2011, Sangin, I had such a jammed weapon in the middle of a firefight that I was completely out of the fight. No matter what I did to fix the problem nothing worked . Then, straight out of a movie in Hollywood, Gunner Marine walked over, grabbed my rifle and with one swift motion, cleared the malfunction. I was back in the fight; only then the man to my right was him; and we buddy rushed the objective together. Crazy times! I missed the Corps.
Maybe a bolt over ride??? We learned how to clear these in boot camp Why is a Marine in country have zero clue how to fix it? Its weird, ot sound like the t handle is retracting all the way but the bolt is staying in place? Im curious, anyone know for sure what the malfunction was?
I don't even go to the range without a multi-tool of some sort. Gerber, leatherman, whatever. It saves asking around to see if anybody has a knife or something else when I run into a jam or double feed. It sounds like he managed to get that thing jammed up good. Great video. Dude has a bolt over ride. Round is stuck above the bolt, so charging handle wont go all the way back. Why he hasnt been taught that I have no idea....
I've only ever seen that once.I thought maybe he had one stuck in the breech.bolt over rides r a real pain in the ass because the extractor can't extract the round because it's well jamed in there.good observation

Bro, you should oil your weapon better. I always let my bolt basically soak in gun oil the entire night before use then wipe off the excess and she works like a charm all day. Have never had a jam.

@freedumbification Charlie company 4/9 we were a mix of weapons and 11 that got seperated from our plts because we got fucked and had to be drivers for the first 6 days of the push.
His weapons down, no cleaning rods they pack small no fucking knife smh 🤦♂️ not one person has the ability to do small arms repair. I think this should be used as a training video as to why you need to carry a gun cleaning kit and lube at all times. This guy was out of the fight, to beat this dead horse a little more that guy needs to drop his kit and go through it in front of someone every time he leaves the wire until he understands his shit needs to be in order to stay in the fight.

We had fights like this all the time. The fight could be 30 min or 4 hours and you can always count on IEDs. In my AO we couldnt take cover in a ditch like that there was almost always a pressure plate waiting on us.

This is why I think every soldier and Marine should be issued a leatherman MUT . Good tool to have for clearing bolt overs and jammed double feeds.

Too much Oil isn't great with all that sand. But a nightly take down and cleaning is essential.
