About 200 miles apart. I've been to Kilimanjaro and Serengeti numerous times, and have never seen Kilimanjaro rise above the Serengeti. Nice line though.

Great reaction video! I hadn't known for a long time that Steve Lukather was part of Ringo Starr's All-Star band. When I went to see Ringo in 2015, he sang Africa and it still sounded GREAT! I was so impressed! Not to mention, I always liked Toto's music.

They have done 14 studio albums; they are still writing music; David Paich & Jeff Porcaro wrote Africa. Check out: "Burn" with Joseph Williams singing lead vocal; "Till the End" (with Paula Abdul dancing, who taught Janet Jackson how to dance) and "I Won't Hold You Back". Toto Is one of the greatest bands of all time.

Pick any one you want there all fantastic. Outstanding musicians, artists, performers...they were also session musicians they have played over 5000 songs and more among them all. They played on Michael Jackson's Thriller LP....but not all of it. They did the sound track to the Dune movie. Please check out more by them...you won't be disappointed.

This song is on continual replay somewhere out in the fields of Africa and in the middle of the desert somewhere. Not sure where but the only things that are around are windmills and the satellite of this song playing over and over and over out into the universe. I think that’s so damn awesome ☮️☮️☮️
Jeff Porcaro and Lenny Castro created the drum/percussion loop that runs throughout this song. This was back in the days of tape. They literally spliced 8 bars into the whole song. The percussion alone used 24 tracks, then they put that on the master to open up the tracks to record the rest of the song.
Toto have so many fantastic songs. Obviously the remembered songs like this, Rosanna, I'll be over you and hold the line are great. But the forgotten hits are just as good & need a listening too like Till the end, I'll supply the love, 99, stop loving you, Georgy Peorgy, Stranger in town, I won't hold back and more by this brilliant pop/rock band

Agreed, but somehow, like Olympus rising from the Rongai doesn't sound as lyrical. Even less would be rising above the Tsavo.
It was David Paich's song; he wrote it; he sang it; he can say whatever he wants in terms of lyrics.. and melody. It's his baby.
