Hey Chad, thanks for the thoughtful video! Happy to answer any questions about that Distil Union gear. We've had fun designing those through the years. I cycle through them all the time to test them out, so always good to hear of someone else's experience with them.

I've got a Dango D03 that I carry comfortably in my back pocket, had a bulky leather wallet for quite a while, and wanted something super slim and since I don't carry much cash, the Dango D03 worked for me. Super thin even fully loaded, and fits everything I need, but I can totally see how it wouldn't work if you need to carry more stuff!

I have a serman brands minimalist 1.s wallet. Holds cash, has a non rfid window for id and proximity card. Pull tab for hidden cards. I even have a modified airtag card in one of the slots. Been using it for 7 years. I only bought a new one because I saw a different color I like.

11:07 I have the Bellroy one. The pocket that they have on that side is more so designed for coins and the cards fit into the middle and on the other side with the SIM tray.
I personally didn't like that i had to open the zip constantly to get my cards 😂 but it's really well made regardless.

So many choices of wallets but they seem to be getting smaller and smaller where notes won't fit, fold and they flop back up and get caught in the zip so I leave the zip open. Money hard to see to get out then I loose track of types of coin and end up with a build up of other coins and my cards end up falling out as the wallet loosens. I settled for a £3 black leather zipped purse down the charity shop which fits in my pocket and holds everything in and the notes straight on one side, money on the other and I can see the change. I wonder is it that they put fashion ahead of functionality and convenience.

Hi from London, great video Thanks. Please can you help me find a wallet! Let me explain. Im looking for either a wallet or a small pouch, it will contain the following...Coins and notes, a few credit cards AND my Huntsman swiss army knife. I have looked at the brand Viperade but they seem obsessed with various small tools and aren't used as a regular wallet, also I prefer my folding knife on the inside of the wallet and not on view in a outer sleeve. Any suggestions gratefully appreciated. Ps must fit in front pants pocket, Thanks 😊

I enjoyed your video. You showed 2 Distil Union wallets but not their ModWallet Kit. I’ve been looking at their magnetic wallet system because it seemed like I could carry a single part when I wanted minimal carry for my ID and a couple cards, and the entire thing when I wanted everything. Did you try it? If you ruled it out from consideration, why? Thanks.

    • @LandmanEDC
      @LandmanEDC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

So I unboxed a ton of Distil stuff in this video, ModWallet included 👉🏼
      th-cam.com/video/0bBTwLa5kz0/w-d-xo.html
It’s a GREAT system, just not for me. I have very minimal needs when it comes to a wallet, and the ModWallet had a little too much material for me. I wear pants with specific small upper back pockets and it didn’t fit. It was nice and flat, but a little too long because of the magnets in one end. It was honestly just a personal preference for me, but I can highly recommend it. It’s a great system. Great questions, thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel.

    Thanks for sharing.
I'm not a fan of hard case wallets. I'm strictly a leather wallet man.
I wear a suit to work every day and prefer to carry a breast pocket wallet instead of sitting on a bulky wallet all day.
I've carried a breast pocket wallet since I got my first job out of college and changed the type of breast pocket wallet as my needs change.
I'm not one of those men who carries his breast pocket wallet in his back pocket on the weekend. That's when my money clip comes in. I carry my driver's license, fire department id, my debit card and a credit card along with less than $50.00 in it.
My favorite EDC from the last 20 or years are:
    1. Bosca. It's been my EDC the last 15 or so years. It's got 6 credit card pockets, a peel back flap for cash, two slip pockets (one on each side of the wallet) and a well pocket that I use to stash large bills when I travel for work.
The Craftsmanship and functionality can't be beat.
    2. Stuart Kern. This was the breast pocket wallet that my dad gave me when I graduated from grad school and the one, he was using as his EDC when he passed away.
It's a good solid wallet but is too much for me to use as an EDC when things slip out of the slip pockets easily.
    3. Maxwell Scott. It's a well-made breast pocket wallet I got as a 50th birthday gift from co-workers that I haven't used nearly enough.
    4. Tumi Global Deluxe breast pocket wallet. I probably should rank this higher but feel it's more designed for international travelers than an everyday businessman. When I travel for work it's almost 100% in the USA with an occasional trip to Toronto or Montreal.
    5. Wanders Travel Company. Although it has 30 credit card and id slots, it appears to be worth using as an EDC. My fiancée discovered Wanders on the recommendation of one of her co-workers. I think the purse she ordered from them is made better than Coach or Michael Kors at a far better price. I haven't used the wallet yet as Wanders is based in Australia.
    6. My grandfather's breast pocket wallet that he got as a retirement gift from the Board of the Rock Island Railroad when he retired as Chairman.
For the era, I suppose it was a very practical wallet as there is only a small pocket for postage stamps. and more than enough room for cash.
The wallet has his name engraved on it. (It's the same as mine and my dad's).
The last time I used it was when my fiancée and I went to a retirement dinner for one of her big bosses at work. When I pulled it out to tip the bartender, my driver's license, debit card, credit card and cash all fell out on the bar. I got some interesting looks when that happened.

@@LandmanEDC A quick review of the Wanders Travel company Kent Card Wallet:
      PROS
      1. Functionality
      2. Style. It's great for an EDC and for special events.
      3. More than enough room for what I carry on a daily basis.
      4. Leather is very soft and durable.
      5. Design of the slip pockets is spot on. Slip pockets are designed so cash, parking stubs ETC. won't fall out.
      6. Wallet rides nicely in the breast pocket of my suit jackets.
      7. Big fan of the professional look of the wallet.
      Cons
      1. Card slots are very difficult to break-in for quick removal and return.
      2. Wallet is a bit taller than I would like and occasionally rise up into my arm pit when I sit down.
      3. Wallet could definitely use a peel back flap or well pocket for cash.
      4. RFID protection would take this wallet to the next level!
      5. Having the company name on the front of the wallet, is a big turn off for me. Why not put it on the inside like Bosca and Tumi do?
Looking forward to using it as a EDC on my upcoming six-week trip for work.

I like the Alpaka zip wallet alot.....but I dont use it as a wallet. I use it as a EDC pocket organizer. My knife, light, a pen, and other stuff but now a wallet. What Ive used for a number of years now is a cheap noname leather cardholder with a a flap front. Im on my third one now. Dont know a name or model number but you can find them in discount leather shops, those dudes selling leather at fairs, etc. You go with what you like and if you find something that works, you stay with it.

I've tried a few different pouch style wallets, specifically the alpaka one and I liked it but the size has made me go back to a conventional style nylon wallet by slimfold, its super thin and holds all the cards I need. I am finding that I actually carry fewer cards and no cash every day, so I keep most things like cash and insurance cards in the alpaka wallet in my backpack.

Hi, new to your content. I had a George Costanza type wallet for years and am forcing myself to go smaller. I recently bought a Wayfinder Flux. Really like it, seems industructable. Has room for about 7 cards and a couple of bills in middle, but it is tight. But I also like it that way so stuff doesn't fall out. Am now trying the Supr Slim wallet for Supr Good. It's basically a nice elastic type band. It has room for its color matching card to kind of hide your cards behind it and has room for about six more cards behind it. Don't see it being a good option if you need to carry some cash, but boy I like the feel of it. Both are a game changer when sitting, writing or driving and doing errands.
