- This is my first time back in Bangkok in over a year, and it has changed a hell of a lot! Join me today as we explore the newly renovated luxury mall Gaysorn Amarin which has recently opened the first Luis Vuitton cafe and restaurant in South East Asia.
Then we'll explore Bangkok's new 20 Billion Baht super mall, Emsphere. It's truly an incredible mall with its crown jewel being the beach club and bar on its 5 level. Bangkok is changing and evolving rapidly which is very exciting to see for the country.

I was at age of 17 staying in Phanat Nikhom refugee camp with my dear mother and two younger brother and sister for about two weeks during my ODP from Saigon to Houston, TX our final destination way back in early March 1984. I remembered riding in a bus early evening with small fans, lights and colorful curtains inside from Bangkok International airport to the camp for about two hours. The street lights in Bangkok were yellow unlike white in Saigon because of the American style. I really love them, cozy and warm look instead of the cool white. Anyway image escaping, ok leaving from Saigon (the most modern city in Vn) back then and arrived in Bangkok, wow just like heaven to me! So modern then BUT comparing it to these days . However those yellow streetlights and the flashy looking buses with long haired (hippie) drivers in tank top T shirts cannot be forgotten!

The most luxury mall in Thailand now is Iconsiam.
Another big one will be coming soon is One Bangkok project.
That purple drink is the juice made of buttefly pea flowers and lemon soda.

When the Bangkok Mall finishes near Udomsuk BTS station that will be the biggest mall of them all. Sukhumvit road isn't done seeing new malls.
Biggest means nothing though if they dont have Amazing Amenities which the Budget for the Bangkok Mall is only 30 Billion! Iconsiam is $54 Billion! Emsphere budget is 20 Billion! Bangkok Mall will be classified as a C tier even when completed!

มีคนบอกว่าเชียงใหม่ไม่มีรถเมล์ คงเหมือนชลบุรีที่ไม่มีรถเมล์ แต่ก่อนชลบุรีมีรถเมล์จากบางแสน(หนองมนถึงตัวเมืองชลบุรี)ซึ่งเป็นถนนหลักเดินทางแยะ แต่ได้เลิกบริการไปหลายปีแล้วเพราะขาดทุนถ้าเมืองท่องเที่ยวอย่างนี้ไม่มีรถเมล์คงเป็นไปไม่ได้ที่จังหวัดเล็กๆจะมีรถเมล์ ใช้สองแถวดีที่สุดแล้ว

I living in Bangkok in the downtown next month I’m gonna move to the oldtown in BKK close to China town and just 5-6km from downtown ,, because more chill and lively coz a bit tried in downtown too busy 😂

The modernisation of Bangkok has notified its charm, making it a city no more different from any modernised western cities, in the process washing its own cultural significance and identity.
I have been traveling to Bangkok for holiday the last three decades. And noticed the dilution of its charm and energy gradually over time. To me that is not progressive but regressive, as most visitors visit to experience Thai culture just to find that they have not left their own modern city.
The evolution of Bangkok city brings only lameness to the Thai culture. It’s sad.
We don't destroy any old Thai culture we still preserve them. Old architecture still preserve we have law for that.
But another 10-20 million tourists who visit Thailand think the opposite of you. If you don't believe them, try reading other opinions in this clip and other clips...
I just can't believe that you want us,Thailand, to be like it used to be in the very old day as an undeveloped country, poor, dirty and no nice building & shopping mall so that you can visit us and feel the difference from yours or other western country. Our development is nothing to do with our Thai culture. The Thai culture is deeply in our blood and it's everywhere in the country. Btw Bangkok is not Thailand.
