I'm Damaris and I am a full-time accountant at a big 4 firm. More specifically, I specialize in audits in the telecommunication, pharmaceutical, energy and banking industry. I’ve worked on audits ranging from Public Interest Entities and listed companies, to local mom & pop shops, helping them create a financial statement that is suitable for reporting purposes. Currently, I am specializing in the implementation and audit of emerging technologies such as blockchain, RPA, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Through my videos I aim to give you a sneak peek of what life in public accounting is like in the Netherlands. This channel takes you through my journey of climbing the corporate ladder from the ground up, while sharing information on how I manage and make moves in my career… to help you build yours!

Awww love this very much! Waiting for more videos with you two! Loving the auditing summary! Really helpful for peeps that started during the pandemic and didn't really get proper explanation on what the structure of an audit is, let alone a group audit!!!

Great video. I appreciate this longer format. I know it had to be a pain to edit.

Glad you enjoyed it! The editing was not too bad actually, but figuring out how to work with the limited storage space on my phone was challenging.

Do u have LinkedIn? I'm someone from a finance background that self taught in IT. I studied to be a Security Controls Assessor but ended up as a third party vendor risk analyst. This compliance work is fun for me but I want to be able to work for a big 4 or at least do more. Any advice?

I do, but I am not that active on LinkedIn to be honest.
I would say research the current vacancies, check the qualifications required, and apply accordingly.
Also, use connections that work there or have worked there and ask for a referral as you already have work experience.
Recruiters at the respective company can help you as well if you ask them.
