I was talking to a fireman here in the US and he was saying they had to upgrade all the Jaws of Life systems on the trucks because the old ones weren't strong enough to cut threw modern cars/metal. I'd be willing to bet this is an old system that got replaced because it wasn't strong enough.

Regards the cutting tool you brought asking a bit much for it to cut bar like that, designed to cut pillars which are mostly pressed steel sheet and spread doors off the hinges which really it more rips the fixings out then cuts them . There are bigger units will cut bar like that easy but weigh about 25kgs and have a bigger power pack. Just saying no offence but that’s a baby set up
