I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder in service, but didn't know how to express my symptoms/was in denial for years. Filed for PTSD and depression 5 years later without any complaints in service and was awarded 70%. #1 and #2 are spot on, the VA seems to have learned to give benefit of the doubt on service connecting mental health claims, so it comes down to explaining your symptom's correctly.

My father was awarded 100% in March 2024. He's a Vietnam War 0311 and it's been 55 years since he's received a disability pension from the VA. We filed his C&P January 23, 2023 under the Pact Act. He has not been paid the back pay for August 2022 even though he filed his claim well within the Pact Act due dates. How can he put in for the back pay to August 2022? We were told by the VBA rep that my father should appeal the date of January 23, 2023 to August of 2022. We understood this back pay was automatically dispersed based on when he originally filed. Do I file an appeal or a supplimental claim for his back pay? Also I'm an OIF/OEF vet and I submitted my intent to file the same month I filed my father's claim in 2023. I completed my fully developed claim by Sept 2023. Do I have to file a supplemental claim for the back pay to August 2022? Let me know and keep the C&P gouge coming!

I have 30% chronic sinusitis (newest disability as of 04/03/2024) 30% plantar fasciitis, 10% bilateral pes cavus, 10% left ankle, 10% right ankle, 10% tinnitus, 10% barbae. I've been denied PTSD, CFS, Migraines, and Insomnia multiple times. I never knew PTSD, CFS, Insomnia, Migraines can be filed as secondary claims to tinnitus. What about secondary claims for sinusitis? So I'd need to file a new for tinnitus secondary claims?

Jordan, I appreciate what you do. Question: I did not serve overseas, but an incident I believe was combat-related. We had a Marine who was not performing as expected during my time of service, it was during the Gulf War. This Marine was physically assaulted, but back then we did not consider it an assault we were trying to get this Marine ready to be deployed. I am not condoning my behavior, but it was the culture during that time. Our unit was next up, and we were training because our Battalion was next to be deployed. I had fire watch and during this time, the marine that was assaulted attempted suicide. I could have stopped the assault, but I didn't. I figured it would get them ready for what was coming. I suppressed these memories, as a Marine you overcome adapt, and move on, in short, I compartmentalize this event. I did this and a few years ago, something triggered this event and I have been having nightmares and I cannot sleep. Instead of this memory fading it seems like it becomes extremely vivid and I am unable to deal with it. Some days, it feels like I am still there and I recount what happened, and me not acting as a squad leader. My significant other has witnessed my nightmares and has been helping me cope with these issues. I never told her what happened until she witnessed the nightmares and out of her concern, I broke down and explained what happened. Would this incident be considered combat-related? Grateful Marine.

If your DD 214 doesn’t state “Served in an Imminent Danger Area for pay” and the incident didn’t happen there, then is not considered combat PTSD, but it is non combat PTSD.

You intentionally let another Marine get physically assaulted, and you did nothing, but now, you feel your guilt warrants PTSD and a disability rating? You were not ever a Marine or a true squad leader in accordance with USMC standards. And he attempted suicide? That PTSD belongs all to you.

My records show that I have completely prostrating migraines 1-2 times a week and that nis also what I told the C&P examiner. For some reason, they stated that I only had them once a month. I'm not sure where they got that info. I filed for an HLR and asked for a call from the reviewer to explain my side.

Never submitted a claim as a secondary. I have been approved for 10% tinnitus and want to add migraines. Due to the stigma dont go to sick call i dont have these in my records but i have been to combat iraq twice would a personal statement or buddy letter be enough or would i need a diagnose as well from a Dr ? Would the C& P examiner be enough to diagnose me for migraines????? Thank you!!!!! 🙏

Hey just a question about #3, I'm in the navy and worked with fuel and we are constantly inhaling fumes, being sprayed, and basically always in contact with the fuel would I be able to claim and if so what's a good way to go about it?

I have a rating for PTSD ( due to MST) with bipolar type ll ( previously rated as major depression with anxiety). I question that these should be two separate ratings. What is your take on it?
Thank you for your time and all you are doing for us vets.

GTO it’s great to see you as always my friend. That story really hurt to hear, but you’re correct, as long as you have a current MST diagnosis, knock out a bulletproof statement and you will not be pressed for proof of the event

Have a current diagnosis. Get a nexus letter connecting your illness to your service. Get buddy statements. Have/Pay a doc to fill out a DBQ.

The thing i hate is that the VA uses our MOS against us, i was a maintenance clerk with an infantry unit and i was more exposed to the 03’s then my own MOS as i was voluntold to go with scout snipers and motorman, they need to stop using our MOS and actually utilize our unit as its more present on our disabilities as a infantry unit will possibly do more hikes and training then a non combat unit

I am sold. I am buying access to your course. I am having a terrible time. I survived a Blackhawk crash. It was not combat, nor was it training. It was during an Air Ambulance rescue mission. I got banged up and dislocated my shoulder. They patched me up and sent me on my way, NOW, I am 55 and its all coming back to bite me. My shoulder now needs to be replaced badly, and it is causing PTSD. I hope you guys can help. VA has approved my shoulder to be replaced and have me at 20%

I know this is a older video but maybe I still can get an answer here. I tried to get my tinnitus connected but it was denied. I am a 12M aka Firefighter and the link posted shows that my MOS is "Highly probable" but I still was denied. Should I refile, it has been almost 2 years since I was denied this.
