Panini are setting prices as to what all the Bozo's are willing to pay. If collectors are paying X$ for Colour/Signature/Patch etc . . . If the player they're paying for is in the product, hell perfect business sense to price accordingly. Buyers are wanting cheap product . . . So that they can onsell for double. Agreed. I think the big point here is that collectors dont feel like they are getting any return for what they pay for at this point which is why no one is buying
Dude! I was talking to RGL saying NFL Optic is $850?!?!?!?! That's disgusting. My feeling is Panini is getting as much as it can before it loses its licensing. If we stop buying this stuff at high prices, we can set the price. Rock on, Acme 🤘

I’m 100% with you here the current price is out of control and exactly why products are still sitting on Panini website. The other issue is breakers paying the high price because they get their money back pretty easily. That said your average hobby/collector customer is getting priced out of the hobby and gives retail only options.
Ive heard the breaker thing a few times in the comments for this video and my response to that is. If breakers were truly churning as much product as everything thinks they are wouldnt the product on panini all be bought out and not be sitting there? I run breaks weekly and i would say i have a decent size community, you still have to be cost conscious because breaks dont just sell out because they are available. You still have to purchase well and keep the costs down otherwise people wont want to purchase spots. Breakers cant just purchase piles of product at high prices and expect their breaks to sell out
Their Basketball is even worse. Their flagship set, Prizm, is selling for nearly $1000 and there's boxes with no autos. There was a post from a breaker who said in 40 hobby boxes, 20 autos were missing. Meanwhile, Topps made some big mistakes, but they immediately try and make it right. Chrome had no SSPs and sent everyone silver packs. Topps series one was missing a stamp on their special new 1/1s, so now they're buying them back for replacements and store credit.

correct but its unfair to ask everyone to just quit buying something they like. it is a free market and people can spend their money how they want. panini has clearly priced out most collectors which is why these products are not moving like they used to
Between the points instead of autos, and Kabooms being virtually MIA, I think my biggest gripe is getting a hobby of prizm, and not really getting anything much more valuable than your in store Megas or Blasters. A lot of the mid-level rips I've seen doesn't even come with the value of a quarter of the price combined. Most people I know can't afford to spend $100 a month on cards, much less afford anything north of that.

Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t they gonna lose their licensing rights soon? If so I think thats why they are jacking up the prices. But they were too high even last year. You know it probably only costs them like $10 a box to make. It’s ridiculous how much they charge. That’s why leaf is so popular. Cheaper with at least one really good card per box.
Collectors are just being smarter. The ROI sucks. Remember, a few years ago, Donruss was at $900 plus. There was nothing new or exciting in the product.
For some reason Panini is pricing their product like Stroud and Young have signatures in them. Everyone knows they don't which is why product isn't moving. Also, I feel like I haven't seen a lot of cool things come out of these products this year. It really feels like Panini knows they are losing the license soon and are just trying to get as much out of it as possible.
But to stay on point with the video, Panini is not about the hobby, but the money. Generic material in cards, expensive boxes without game used/player worn materials. Quality control is subpar and watching breaks on other channels the amount of redemptions is nuts.
In a sense I don't blame them. When they release stuff too low the market gets flooded with resellers. Look at NFL Donruss Megas and Blasters, NBA Prizm Megas. I hate resellers and refuse to support them, don't buy all of the product in your area just to price gouge it because no one can find it. I wish Panini would just handle distribution themselves vs. Walmart, Target, etc. I do think they are out of touch with the fact that none of the big guys are signing in their product this year and seem to think they can/should charge more.
Panini is trying to ring the cloth dry before selling. They’ve missed the football market because they’re like a year behind in product drops. No reason we are a full month after the season has ended and are still getting new product every week or two. They have been horrible over the last two years and that’s no including them destroying the retail market for football
I collect soccer (I just love watching people open all American sports), but in comparison to soccer, everything in American sports is expensive, very expensive. One of the reasons I don’t collect it. I dunno if this is because it costs them more to get the autos/mem etc, but I don’t understand why it’s so much more expensive, you don’t see soccer hobby boxes reaching even remotely close to $1k upon release
Its all popularity here in the states. I love soccer and its price point but its just not as popular here unfortunately. American football is king and its priced accordingly
@@AcmePacks yeah that’s fair. I’m in the UK myself so soccer is by far the biggest sport over here, and that’s the kind of price point I’m used to, so when I see Prizm NBA (especially with how bad it’s been this year) going for $1k, when you can get 3/4 soccer hobby boxes for that price, it’s hard to understand how people can afford to rip the product, it’s hard enough being close to £250-300 over here!
2023 Panini Obsidian NFL hobby boxes dropped on the Panini Direct website this morning listed at $549.95. RbiCru7 had this same product listed on their website for $495 before it even dropped on Panini Direct… Strange. Needless to say, I agree that Panini is out of touch. I really enjoy your content, thanks for all you do!
Hi Andy, I enjoyed your rip and rant today. I feel that Panini has totally lost their way when it comes to knowing how the hobby is leaning. People will always vote with their pocketbooks and this is no exception. Have a great evening, Peter
The issue isn't so much price, as it is the product itself is glaringly poor. By that, I mean the set configuration and lack of autographs. I think consumers have finally recognized the absolute lack of value in Panini football sets. Price never really mattered. Never has. I made the conscious decision to skip Illusions, Limited, Zenith, and Obsidian.
Price walks hand and hand with this. If the quality was there and we got what we paid for the price wouldnt matter as much but your right if the product was good, people would buy no matter the price. Instead we get missing autos, panini points, lack of certain chase players autos
I feel like they are producing way too much football maybe?? It definitely sucks that everything I see that's football on panini is like $300+ and the only way that would be worth it to me is if I were to pull like a packers auto or a low numbered card of one of my favorite players. Im sure like a stroud would go for a pretty penny but with high end products like that I'd be looking more for a card for my PC than a quick flip.
It’s actually gotten to the point where the prices are so high you literally can’t even break even by buying a box without hitting absolute crazy low numbered cards of Stroud. Which I think is on purpose to promote breaking, it’s literally the only way to afford getting wax “sealed” 😢
panini hasnt leaned into breaking like fanatics has though. i think they are just charging what they are right now because they can. a lot of people like to point to breaking as the main contributor to box prices being what they are and maybe there is some truth to that, but its not the only reason or the biggest
Pretty nice box. 👍 I like the booklets even though I've never hit one. Mahomes has a few locker booklets Id love to have.😅 I love the rips, not so much the rants as most of us long term collectors have told covid invaders time/time/time again how to gix it but they're clearly not willing so they must not agree its as bad as we think it is or they would, so not worth repeating anymore. Thanks for sharing! 🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈 Take Care/Stay Safe ✌
Like 169 to you acme, just waiting for optic retail at this point, these boxes are too high, I hope more people boycott any box over 250, plus Biden inflation doesn’t help, everything is pricey, it’s bad, booklets are nice for your team pc but it’s hard to sell depending on the players
Totally overpriced for all of their football products. Then they load them with Tune and company or they give you points. You should not get points in boxes that cost so much. Thanks for another great video!!
The greedy ass people at Panini just need to go! They don't and haven't cared about the consumers for years. Panini you should be embarrassed for what you have done to this great gobby!
They really need to get away from calling them memorabilia cards. They're not attached to any memories, games, or events. They should just call them patches or Weak Sauce cards.
A box like this costing hundreds of dollars is simply not tenable. It's Topps also. I've never bought a hobby box in my life. I stick to retail and will buy individual cards on eBay if I really want them. The hobby is simply too expensive.
I stopped buying Panini last year they are so over priced they’re just taking the piss. I’m still waiting for two redemptions that I don’t expect to get. At Christmas I bought a case of Bowman U. I had to pay shipping to U.K. but I ordered it Christmas Night and it took only4 days to get to me. Second box I opened I hit a Marvin Harrison Jr Auto /5, I hit some really exceptional cards, I think the best I think was a Jordan Travis 1/1 with the full Florida St logo as the patch. It was the most fun I’ve had ever ripping cards. I don’t think I’ll ever buy another panini box product again, single cards yes, you have to, they really are that bad.
I despise the d bags at Panini who have been deciding to set prices so stupidly high! Cant wait for Topps and Fanatics and I hope they get the hobby back in good shape. Panini makes me want to get out of the hobby entirely
Smart business by Panini. They are testing the ceiling. They will price it at an unreasonable amount knowing some people will buy it overpriced. Kinda like video games charging more for a 3 day early release. Then when the hype is over, they lower the price (to what is the real normal price). Also, the product “sitting” on the website is just because they have more product than ever. They are still moving through it.
Both statements can be true, they dont have to be mutually exclusive. Panini can be out of touch with their pricing but I still buy to make content. This years pricing is much higher than last years
It's odd that a content creator and breaker is complaining about the price of the boxes when they're the reason the prices are so high. You keep buying it so you can, one make content and two sell breaks. People buying into breaks at a point that you can make a profit and you buying boxes so you can make a video will keep the prices high.
So because I am a content creator and a breaker I am not allowed to speak on this topic? There is a difference between complaining and talking rationally about pricing, because i actually offered up facts to back what I said. But if you want to blame content creators and breakers for prices being what they are that's fine too, everyone is entitled to their opinion!
@@AcmePacks if you weren't making a video to make money...would you have bought the product...no. This is a demand that didn't exist 5 years ago. It's not that you can't complain, just be realistic as to why the prices are what they are. People that didn't buy these boxes are now buying them for content or to peddle as breaks.
Honestly panini don’t make any sense man… 3/4 top rookie qbs have no autos which is obviously normally a big selling point.. felt like prices should have went down bc of that not up bc stroud was looking good 💀
I agree with you but if I was panini I would be doing the same thing because you guys keep buying just to make a video u can’t complain about it if you keep buying it
i knew this comment was coming at some point haha. i mean they probably make 35,000 boxes of this if its on par with last year so i would say my 1 box in this video doesnt make a dent. but thats what these reviews are for! to talk about products and give my thoughts on them both good and bad
Panini doesn't set the Market, buyers and collectors do. If you don't like the current prices just wait till you find what you believe to be a good value product and then buy. But while Player Y has many high value cards, if Player Y is in the product, it would be Business Suicide, not to take advantage of this. Collectors have to be willing to vote with their non purchases if they wish future products to lower in cost.
would love to see a few more #d parallels in here and then it would be a really good product. leaf limited used to be all #d and was one of the best products out there

Would you all consider 1300$ for a 1/1 magenta panini limited laundry tag Aidan O’Connell fair?
Sounds a little high to me to be honest. But thats without checking comps
I definitely agree with you friend. They can do alot better but good content and good luck rippin 🍀🍀
Collectors are just being smarter. The ROI sucks. Remember, a few years ago, Donruss was at $900 plus. There was nothing new or exciting in the product.
its good to see that people are being smarter, possibly a turning point for the hobby. wemby mania is nuts though for basketball
You ain’t lying!
That was the best limited box I’ve seen ever
Not only are the prices out of whack and have been since 2020 if not earlier, bud print runs I’d bet are astronomical
“Fun, affordable football product”? I remember early 2020 getting a legacy hobby box for $125.
honestly, legacy gets a lot of hate but i really enjoy it for what it is.
@@AcmePacks for sure! My two boxes in 2020 had a jeudy RPA and lamb RPA. Both were hot players at the time
Love the rant, it’s justified!!
This limited football hobby box is still 319.95 on the panini direct app.
i said in the video that these price drops are according to blowout cards which is a great online store get current market pricing
The scribble or initials for signatures…SUCK…for what they’re getting paid
I respect the booklets Panini put out!!!
i will say the limited and spectra booklets have looked great this year
For some reason Panini is pricing their product like Stroud and Young have signatures in them. Everyone knows they don't which is why product isn't moving. Also, I feel like I haven't seen a lot of cool things come out of these products this year. It really feels like Panini knows they are losing the license soon and are just trying to get as much out of it as possible.
One last aside there have been wayyyy to many points replacing autos this year.
that auto does kinda look upside down compared to his autos. dope vide as always.
Greedflation
I got that Impeccable Jayden Reed and the printing plate for it.
🔥🔥🔥
But to stay on point with the video, Panini is not about the hobby, but the money. Generic material in cards, expensive boxes without game used/player worn materials. Quality control is subpar and watching breaks on other channels the amount of redemptions is nuts.
Thanks for sharing! No Packers 😢
i pulled so much for my pc last year and nothing this year!
The will anderson is upside down😂😂😂
I collect soccer (I just love watching people open all American sports), but in comparison to soccer, everything in American sports is expensive, very expensive.
I really enjoy your content, thanks for all you do!
appreciate it!!
As of April 24 it’s $240
Hi Andy,
I enjoyed your rip and rant today. I feel that Panini has totally lost their way when it comes to knowing how the hobby is leaning. People will always vote with their pocketbooks and this is no exception.
Have a great evening,
Peter
Im glad you liked it!
They have released a lot of product in a short amount of time for sure
It’s actually gotten to the point where the prices are so high you literally can’t even break even by buying a box without hitting absolute crazy low numbered cards of Stroud. Which I think is on purpose to promote breaking, it’s literally the only way to afford getting wax “sealed” 😢
panini hasnt leaned into breaking like fanatics has though. i think they are just charging what they are right now because they can. a lot of people like to point to breaking as the main contributor to box prices being what they are and maybe there is some truth to that, but its not the only reason or the biggest
You need to get more wildcard
Pretty nice box. 👍
I like the booklets even though I've never hit one.
Mahomes has a few locker booklets Id love to have.😅
I love the rips, not so much the rants as most of us long term collectors have told covid invaders time/time/time again how to gix it but they're clearly not willing so they must not agree its as bad as we think it is or they would, so not worth repeating anymore.
Thanks for sharing!

Take Care/Stay Safe ✌
Going to pick one up in a week or so to rip during the draft!
Also, do you think since they’re losing their license, they are just trying to cash out quickly towards the end?
This is what most people are assuming but only time will tell
Like 169 to you acme, just waiting for optic retail at this point, these boxes are too high, I hope more people boycott any box over 250, plus Biden inflation doesn’t help, everything is pricey, it’s bad, booklets are nice for your team pc but it’s hard to sell depending on the players
optic will be fun! hobby is going to be tough though at $850
@@AcmePacks that’s why I’m doing retail only, blaster and mega
Hopefully fanatics is better
Thank you for affordable breaks. I can't buy hobby or fotl responsibly anymore
i do my best! i truly wish i could offer them even cheaper but its the market we are in right now
They're trying to rake in all the money they can until fanatics gets the licensing away from them
I completely agree with this. Whether it happens sooner or later its coming. And if i had to put money on it it will be sooner
Totally overpriced for all of their football products. Then they load them with Tune and company or they give you points. You should not get points in boxes that cost so much. Thanks for another great video!!
points should be a bonus, shouldnt replace a hit imo
Let's see some JLove cards. Did you get in when they were cheap?
i have a few really nice ones that i bought a year or so ago!
Nice, I've been holding on to a few since 2020 myself. I crack Baseball but I'm a Packers fan. @@AcmePacks
Panini can't be gone soon enough. And anyone who pays release price on ANY of these products is nuts or happens to have money to burn.
The greedy ass people at Panini just need to go! They don't and haven't cared about the consumers for years. Panini you should be embarrassed for what you have done to this great gobby!
Prices been out of wack since covid with hobby paying and upper deck, big breakers driving prices up also makes the hobby unaffordable am disappointed
AMEN!
What’s up AP
Hows it going man!
Is panini out touch ? If your buying it then ..... Box prices are down from what they was few years ago.
Limited should be 150 at most
Crazy $$$$$$$ 🤒
I just buy the players card I want. Why rip boxes when you can just buy the card you want.
Prizm was the worst 1k for a hobby is absurd
They are definitely overpriced
@@AcmePacks do you think 215-245 is a fair price for this though ?
@@sneakerbay1836 i think so. At that price you have a chance to make your money back
@@AcmePacks pulled a 1/1 Aidan occonell laundry tag
Not upside down
Panini doesn't set the Market, buyers and collectors do. If you don't like the current prices just wait till you find what you believe to be a good value product and then buy. But while Player Y has many high value cards, if Player Y is in the product, it would be Business Suicide, not to take advantage of this. Collectors have to be willing to vote with their non purchases if they wish future products to lower in cost.
which is exactly what is happening right now, these products are being discounted because sales are slow
crazy that over 75% of this box is base. that is just awful.
would love to see a few more #d parallels in here and then it would be a really good product. leaf limited used to be all #d and was one of the best products out there
