Thanks for the video. Having clutch set for beta 390 would be amazing. The oem parts are hundreds of dollars for a set. There is a huge demand for it!

In the olden days that is the 70s and 80s we would pull the clutch apart boil the friction plates in soapy water to remove all the oil then with fine wet and dry on a sheet of glass lightly rub the friction plates and steel plates to take away the glaze and reintroduce a new clutch bite

Hi . Ive done this but now when i pull the lever in its rock hard and its not opening the clutch plates . The basket is together correctly as it only goes together properly in one position . Ive done this three times to make sure i had got it together perfectly. But its still the sane . Lever is difficult to pull in and it not opening the plates

Hmm, sounds like something is keeping the pressure plate from moving. Hard to say without looking at it, I'm assuming the washer got re-installed. I'd take another look and make sure the collar, bearing, and washer for the basket are all fully seated and the gear on the basket is lined up with the primary gear. Other than that, did the right number of plates get installed? I know our kit came with an extra. -Charles

Why the four stroke oil in the clutch? Just asking for a friend that has a 300RR two stroke.

Any JASO MA oil is made for a wet clutch and transmission. Beta calls for 10w50 but you can run specific transmission oil if you want. Up to you, just make sure it has the JASO MA/MA2 rating.

I don't understand why you had to remove the clutch hub. It looked like you could have left it in. I must not have seen something.

Yeah, I can see how you might think that. It's actually flipped, a lot of older '80's bike were like that too. You won't be able to get to the plates without removing the nut and hub. -Charles
