We need more artists like Mason to revitalize the country music industry and pull us back from the mess current artists in Nashville have been putting us through since the late 2000s. People do not listen to country music for rap or pop-style lyrics. Even Nashville knows that a fair majority of listeners prefer a similar style of country music that Mason exhibits. The story-telling days of country music seem behind us but, hopefully, new artists like Mason can in the future revive the old days through a new neo-traditionalist era of country music, much similar to how artists such as George Strait, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis (among many more) were able to pull country out of the slums in the 1980s and back to more familiar tunes.
