It's bulls*#t though 🙄, Harrison Ford wanted it. He thought it was a nice conclusion fot the character and his story arc. He actually wanted Han to die in episode V at first. Who wrote that lame joke?

@@juankusoff If it was it didn't actually come across clearly, at least for me. Still doesn't help, still not a funny joke imo. Maybe it's on me. I am completely done with the whole woke vs anti-woke discussion. It pisses me off so much and I would be happy never hearing the word "woke" again.
@@ammie886 I 100% agree with the woke vs anti woke… it’s annoying and stupid.. but I think that’s why the joke has merit making fun of both sides. Like it’s hilarious at this point. Woke is yet another word that people try to use whenever they don’t like something and don’t know how to fully express themselves…

Just thinking the same thing. He's just as funny and awesome but he's a little bit looser and seems to be able to go with the flow without a hitch. He's a great actor and obviously a great guy as well!

Adam Driver is definitely Five Timers Club material. He's versatile, he's hilarious, he puts his all into it, and you can tell he's having an absolute ball. SNL has killed it lately with the hosts, Jason Momoa, Timothee Chalamet, Emma Stone, and Adam Driver are fucking fantastic.

Some monologues seem forced and the guest is uncomfortable, Adam just looked relaxed and his timing was perfect. One of the best opens in a long while.

yah it doesn't seem every celebrity has a natural stage presence for that particular medium. I'm also not sure how much of the monologue is typically written by the guest vs by the writers but I'm sure a lot of them just have to give a half hearted stand up routine based on jokes they didn't write

He’s clearly got it memorized. Either he wrote it himself or is such a pro that he quickly made it his own. Incredible.
It had the same kind of casual effortlessness I’d expect from a Steve Martin bit.
It does - his sense of irony here is pretty brilliant, very funny 😄
He talks about SNL a bit on the Smartless podcast interview. I knew nothing about A.D. before listening to it & he seems like a really good person. Very interesting
There were some really great lines in this monologue!
"Wokeness killed Han Solo."

"Now it's the part of the ritual where I play 'O! Holy Night' while I make unbreakable eye contact with the camera."
"Okay, Santa, well thank you for listening. I look forward to you breaking into my house."

Oh my, Adam playing a piano is really something. I hope directors will see it and find a good use in his next projects. Saying that apart from how happy am I to see him back and in good spirits absolutely killing it. Bravo, Adam!
I think it's a known in the industry but under the radar thing that he is musically talented. He has an incredible solo singing scene in Marriage Story. He is a lot like Hugh Jackman in that regard. I hope he does something that showcases those talents more in a movie as well.
He does bear a slight resemblance to Frederic Chopin, if they want to make a movie about him.

I thought the same at first, then thought about how annoyed I was when he was killed off - "Solo" was fun, but unmemorable for me. Then I thought about the sort of things Han said in the original, and his "pushy" style of "flirting" in the original films and now I sort of get what Adam may have meant here.

The fact that the joke about the 'Wokeness killed Solo' line is flying right over the heads of the people he's making fun of is hilarious.
