In the photo, you can see many types of both amulets and talismans displayed together on a table which is frowned upon by believers of both kinds of these charms. The power of the amulets to protect my restrain the various powers of the talismans, which might, in turn, taint the power of the amulets. There are even accounts of nightmares from possessors of both types of charms who went to sleep at night with the objects in too close of proximity to one another. Of course for objects to have power, a ritual must be performed to “charge” them. Let’s hope that no rituals have been performed on any of the items in the photo!
