Roaring flames, malt tea, ember cooked meat and not a single example of degenerate man-swine for leagues around. That is the best place of respite one could ask for!

Stupid question so dont laugh too hard everyone...... What is the purpose of shaving the bark off of the logs that are being used to build the shelter?
Bugs, esthetic value
Shaving off the bark slows down the rotting process. As that's where the insects live, and they speed it up. Not to mention they can invade and overrun your shelter. Some bushcraft techniques also go as far as burning the surface of the logs, after shaving off the bark. That reduces moisture which also slows down the rotting process. This is usually done at the base portion of the logs that are driven into the dirt to support the frame.
Keeps from rotting.

So you make some kind of shelter, yet your food derives from intensive agriculture. Those steaks, tomatoes, peppers and that bread require the economy to provide them for a price. This is ridiculous.
