I get that, but I get where Toasty Ghost is coming from as well. For me, because of this I don't enjoy SXL as much, I think at this point I'm just waiting for their version 1 release and hope they tweak the physics a bit or at least give the player the ability to tweak the gravity and other settings like what the stats menu does. I'm really excited to see their full release because the game is really great. To be fair, Session is getting the same treatment right now. I think the devs are just hard at work to fix the physics of that game and believe me they have ways to go in that regard compared to SXL. I still play Session here and there because the hardcore mode makes things a bit more challenging and interesting. So with the huge map, I can still explore and try new things. However, I'm mostly waiting for an update.because that game is also really promising, am hoping that there's a new update soon for it.

I just think that's a completely unrealistic expectation. The developer team is FAR smaller than EA so they know not to waste their time struggling to make a huge open world. They made the LA courthouse and are photo-scanning real skaters and getting animations better, and the physics are already better than skate because skate is just animations that play out when you choose a trick. I think your opinion on mods doesn't make sense. If the Skater XL team released an identical mod map you would ride it? Also of course they make it fit their riding style, but so does the Skate 3 map right? You don't want it to be unskate-able Next up is you said that you can download mod maps then change them to make them fit for you which is incorrect. Another thing is it really isn't similar to Skate 3's community maps because they are all made from only limited entities. In a 3D modelling program, with a good set of skills like some of the top map-creators who do 3D modelling professionally, they can make insane things that have better reflections and details than the original LA courthouse map. These map makers can accurately replicate real life skate spots, and overall just make parks that everyone wishes were possible in skate 3's community maps. Personally I think you should give it a go. The game is very bland without mods but with them you will have an enormous amount of fun. For example, PIPE BMX is a physics demo with mod maps and i have almost 600 hours on it and there is a thriving community around both games. You can't say the same for Skate 3.

I’ll play skater xl again when they release the full game and it’s polished.
while i am a big fan of the Skate control schemes (it makes it easy to pick up and play), i do believe that the two stick controls adds more variety for tricks and freedom. its weird getting used to steering with the triggers, but once you learn the controls well enough, its basically just improvement from then on. however, it does lose the 'pick up and play' for the average gamer. it takes effort to get started. more effort if you want to play on something more than the demo area.

Honestly never been interested in Skater XL, I get it's like fresh and exciting as it's a NEW skate style game but it just feels like a watered down skate 3. Feel like skate 3 has that perfect balance of replay-ability. Street skating style is rewarding and so are big ramps.

MrSluby even on hardcore the tricks aren’t done the same as XL, XL just feels more rewarding to even land a simple Ollie or kick flip skate 3 everything is weirdly proportioned just hitting el toro in XL is ridiculous.

No. If you tell people what they're paying for then it's perfect. Don't tell developers how to sell their game ffs, who do you think you are? Indie games don't have the bank to get dozens of people to polish the game right away. Early access is MEANT to get feedback and improve the game as it goes. End of the story.
Honestly never been interested in Skater XL, I get it's like fresh and exciting as it's a NEW skate style game but it just feels like a watered down skate 3. Feel like skate 3 has that perfect balance of replay-ability.
Street skating style is rewarding and so are big ramps.
Actually feels like your skating and progressing in xL this skate feels like a arcade game but I guess some people like that
XL definitely feels like a game in active development but if we were to compare Skate at a similar stage XL would 100% shine
EDIT: the transition updates have been very promising, if you haven't seen them
@@relate97 I see what your coming from however I disagree, Tony hawk games felt like arcade games, skate 3 feels like the mid ground, you can play on easy and it feels like an arcade game, or hardcore where it's more rewarding for more experienced players.
From a viewer point tho I don't find skater XL physically appealing or exciting to watch, it's a very bland looking game with not a whole lot of viewer appeal, at least in my opinion.
MrSluby even on hardcore the tricks aren’t done the same as XL, XL just feels more rewarding to even land a simple Ollie or kick flip skate 3 everything is weirdly proportioned just hitting el toro in XL is ridiculous.
@@relate97 fair enough I respect your opinion and I can't actually say as I've notn played the game, just watched it. but from a viewer perspective I really get very little enjoyment from it as the maps are bland, the movement is kind of odd and looks amateurish, I just don't get much pleasure from viewing the game as a whole. More like watching a tech demo than a fleshed out game.
Skate controls are bloody terrible, they VERY MUCH NEED TO GO
You can't move or adjust anything in modded maps. So that is irrelevant. The reason you don't play it is because you cant do unrealistic stuff and you need to know how to skate like in real life. No, I'm not a hater.
