    I remember another review video from Fools in Action - trying to tell their viewers that Dewalt’s 20v mower was good - after it stalled about half dozen times in 4 inch tall grass ON CAMERA - and Stan was there - in total disbelief they had audacity to make that claim to their audience. Stan isnt “trying” to just fill his garage with free product at the expense of his reputation. Thank you.

    20 years ago in my youth, using petrol lawn mowers, we used to keep one deck with the front cut out of it so the grass wouldn't be flattened entirely before the blades got to it. I don't know what you'd call the cutting method (mulch or rear discharge) but we just welded lengths of chain onto a metal strip which we bolted on the upper edge of the open back of the mower, the chains hanging down to stop stones and other hard crap from being flung at high speed (and most painfully) into your legs, a similar arrangement at the front to protect bystanders and prevent property damage. "Self-propelled" was you pushing the thing yourself, whatever speed you liked, contingent on the thickness of the grass. That old thing could cut whatever you could push it through, with it's ancient Briggs & Stratton motor. It's probably still around somewhere.

    • @Prototheria

      I recently cut the front off of some miserable 3.5 HP flathead Briggs powered 19" no name push mower as well as enlarging the opening on the side and removing the plastic deflector to really let her fart some grass out. It still wasn't dangerous enough for me, so I use a zip tie to hold the bail bar down and cranked the governor up to about 5k. She cuts like a sum'bitch, lemmie tell ya.

Will need not only a mower but a whole family of new power tools. Starting over from scratch. The ability to use the same batteries across multiple tools is a plus.

    I've been considering one of these and have been reading the reviews on HD's site, and am now on the video watching phase of my research. The few I've seen so far have been guys mowing finely manicured lawns and then there's this video. I'm blown away at how the same mower that can produce an amazing finish cut can also romp through the rough stuff like it was a park strip. Thanks for this video! I think I'm ready to buy one.
    *edit- since you asked at the end, I'd liked to have seen underneath the deck after you mowed that tree (!!!). I could have sworn you were going to break the motor mount like some people have been able to do.

    I'm not a tradesman and pretty much only own hand tools... but Milwaukee has blown me away. Every car technician I see is praising these tools, every carpenter out there is yelling to the world how great they are. Hope they keep making great products and don't fall into the trap of so many other companies where they start to chase the less expensive production costs and really cheapen their end product.
    This thing is awesome, great demo... but then I checked out the price. For $1000 I want to be able to cut more than 1/2 an acre.

    Great review, Stan. I noticed the discharge chute isn't fully enclosed - it's got an open bottom. Smart design, as it allows more airflow with less restriction. I've had older Honda self propelled walk behinds with similar discharge chute but it was fully enclosed to the actual opening. In thick, tall, and wet grass it would clog up inside the chute. I like that feature, and the ower sounds like it's got plenty of power. And please show us the big tank!

    • @markbrisec3972
      @markbrisec3972 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was just thinking the same.. I love my semi commercial Honda 537 and she earned me a lot of money, but even the latest model with a more powerful 200 cc engine still gets bogged down in wet thick grass (the type I usually cut given my client base) because it clogs up the back discharge. And I do have a bunggie cord that lifts that plastic flap giving it a maximum possible opening. And with all that tinkering boom, the sucker bogs down. It's a good thing she has a blade clutch so I don't have to kill and start the mower every time this happens.. Anyway, a dissapointing flaw in an otherwise awesome machine.

    Stan, since you've been doing a bunch of mower reviews, one thing would be great is if you would measure from the concrete to the bottom of the blade and let us know what the max height of cut is. Some of us need 4.5 - 5", a lot of times the mower will advertise a height that isn't constant with the measured height mentioned.

    I have a Ryobi Electric Push Mower, and I love it. It does pretty well with tall grass and even does pretty well with brush mowing (I use a duller blade for that lol) the kicking up and down that you mentioned the mower was doing is the same thing th Ryobi does, they call it "GAS LIKE POWER!" and for the most part I totally agree with that, I work 2 jobs and my parent both work so our yard goes without a cut for a few days, and being in south Alabama with random rain, it tends to grow pretty quick, but these newer electric mowers really impress me with how much they can do! Maybe ill have to give the Milwaukee a try! 😁

    I love the mower, I'm not using it but I see a great job it does. Very nice. I wonder how long it actually will run until charging is needed.

    The hi lift mode/turbo mode is not supposed to stay on, it's a quick pulse like a blender. Just a quick burst of speed to get the clog or jam loose.

    Love the Milwaukee mower
    As a small family dealer of Milwaukee I haven’t got my first shipment in yet but they will be here soon and the first one is for me
    But after that I am going to refer my customers to your video
    Definitely want to see the aquarium also

      @@jordanstaal01-107 you save up enough money to be able to open your own business, draft up a business plan to present to the bank for a small business loan, you create a corporation, do the million other things that it takes to start a small business, and you work from the time you wake to the time you go to bed. Then you'll be able to have a store that can retail products, and you'll be able to get a wholesale account with Milwaukee. See? Easy.

    It seems like a great mower even though you tested places no rotary mower should ever go! My only trouble with electric are batteries that in time will not last....and the batteries are not cheap! While I have 40 year old internal combustion equipment still going strong. Perhaps the newer lithium ion batteries are a game changer but I'll wait to see.

    • @landscapingspecialist
      @landscapingspecialist 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My red lithium has been very reliable for the most part. I did have a dud come in a kit once. Wouldn’t hold a charge. Milwaukee sent me a new one. But @ $1000-$1100 I don’t blame you for being cautious. I will say though, my red lithium batteries have held up over time. Now hopefully I will be able to say the same about the mower itself. Only time will tell. I have faith in it though.

      @@landscapingspecialist I'm just disgusted with batteries...I have several B&D tools that use a 14v battery - the batteries won't stay charged now and need to be replaced. I have a Tornado limb trimmer with a dead battery I can't find a replacement for...I have a Ryobi blower with a dead battery!!! These batteries aren't cheap and they don't last especially if stored in an unheated garage here in the Northeast. I.m choosing 2 or 4 cycle engines for the foreseeable future until lithium ion proves to me that they can stand the test of time. Thanks for letting me vent! MV :-)

      Milwaukee batteries have been fantastic for me. I have 3 over 10 years old and still hold a great charge. I use them in my drill, vacuum, blower, sawzall, and others.
