Yvie hit right on the head by saying that the queens are not creative enough to keep this same format. I am no drag queen, but this is a television show, and if they are not one upping each other, the audience will get bored. By one upping I do not mean bigger, I mean finding a new way to captivate the audience, I really thought Gotmik was going to pull a smart stunt, but hey. It is a difficult thing to day because if they were at a club, the people would be living for all this, but in a way, drag race has shot itself on the leg.

If so : Not a smart move, you have to give it your all - everytime. Or maybe she just thought not going too extreme with reveals works in her favor. Who knows.
I hate the lip sync for the crown. It makes it feel like nothing else in the season mattered? I feel like they should consider their track record and not just the lip sync.

Apparently the tea is that Rosé passed out during filming... which is why during her and Kandy's lipsync she was super out of it. Kandy totally won the lipsync, but I do sort of feel bad for Rosé lol.
But tbh Rose never really had a good lipsync on the show. Like she lost all of them (Olivia, Denali, and Kandy) she was never that strong of a lipsyncer to begin with. Which i understand considering a large part of it for her is singing live so maybe she doesnt lip-sync as often or at the level as other queens

Always liked the floorshow style over the LSFYL format. It's giving the queen full control in a way on how she projects on stage. Performers mostly do their best when all eyes are on them.
I have not seen this much back-and-forth lately with other queens. Yvie definitely knows a great deal about fashion than most people give her credit for! She also expressed so much nuances about showbiz and what makes a personality shine on TV! I love this episode so much. Thankyou.
I thought the tree look was cool but maybe a bit underwhelming, and the green was definitely very her and very well made. the black and white.... it definitely wore her. it felt like she found one good designer look and went with it :/

It has become Rupaul’s reveal race now and the whole point in one is to gag the audience it’s become sort of an expectation now and i think Symone could’ve definitely won that lip sync without, or at least put some sparkle/confetti in there, not just 4 spaghetti strands girl 🤣
I just cant fathom how someone would go to all the effort of engineering that tall wig reveal, and then have the reveal be four solitary strands. Four Strands!?!?! How did this get past quality control?

Yvie came the closest to Sasha with the backwards head and I liked Jaidas crown. We know there is creativity in these girls so they should get a finale format where they can show off instead of doing ruveals!!
I appreciated the creativity in the s12 finale lip syncs, especially considering the constraints. Think about that: the s12 finale lip syncs filmed at home were far better than the s13 performances. Since the finalists have time to prepare their performances, there’s a reason we have such high expectations.

Her style is like cotton candy girly + 80s glam + theater kid + victorian royalty..not very refined. I think one of the main reasons why its hit or miss with her, some of those styles dont mix well.

I don't know, to me personally, I don't like that there's so much emphasis on expensive looks the queens didn't make over actually showing the skills of the queens competing because honestly, all the lipsyncs were a chop, the reveals were a chop, and when Yvie is here and is one of THE lipsync assassins that knows how to do a reval that makes sense and can just perform, it was a big let down for me that the actual performances from all 4 were really bad. I can't front. Give me a queen in something less grand that can live in a performance over a fashion show and the lipsyncs we got.
Now I only wish for her to actually learn how to sew. Cause after 13 years of screaming that queens should know how to make an outfit, crowning girl who can't even create a basic dress is kinda bad. But then again she did win that finale

Because all the story line and air time we got from rosé was about wanting to win and rosenali... After Denali left it was all about "I need to stop being perfect and that is hard" meanwhile Symone and mik do. Much air time and a strong story line making them resonate with the viewers more... Not saying anything bad about rosé, is just that when they edited the show they left her out.
I don't get really the part about her not having a storyline. She literally had a underdog storyline being the last Porkchop girl. She was fun, sarcastic and warm to other girls. I don't see how Mik's and Symone's storylines were any more impactful. Especially in untucked its even more visible.
It could've easily been the prize's worth but I think he's p wealthy considering the caliber of people he does makeup for and has a couple designer friends since he went to fashion school so it could become doable
The thing with Rosé's outfits is that, as yuhua said, we got no personality from her during the season (as she barely got any air time so blame the producers and her story line was "is hard to not be so perfect" ) so when the outfits came they were like "cool I guess?" and the only outfit that read Rosé was basically because of her snatch game.
I really love this channel because its like a honest conversation between friends, no keeping queen's or ru happy bias bulls#it, but never nasty just well thought out in depth opinions great channel
I wish they change up the format a bit. They know that this top 4 aren’t dance/lip sync queens and what’s the point of having a runaway(much less 3), if it doesn’t really count? Producers should of done a lipsync with all 4 of them(but in a 1 vs 1 setting) same music and whatnot and do the fashion runaways. However, they will claim a winner for the lipsync category and a winner for the fashion category. If it’s the same person, that’s the winner and if it’s different, they will lipsync each other.
It wouldn't change much I think. Well, kinda it wouldn't - as Mik was supposed to have some bigger reveals for the finale lipsync. So with her (she won the looks) and Symone (definitely would win the lipsync). They would put them as finale two. And that could allow for Mik to win (as Symone did have two bottoms and multiple lipsyncs before). But ultimately I think Rupaul already wanted to crown Symone years before. She reminds him of himself from his younger days. Kinda like Tyra.

There's so much yall unpacked in terms of feedback and I share in the sentiments yall shared! This season I honestly felt a lot of disconnect from contestants and their looks, and the mention of a lack of perspective or point of view hits the nail on the head. So many looks rocked this season (while beautifully constructed and stunning to look at) felt disjointed from who was wearing it (like you could cut the head off and not really be able to identify who the look belonged to). With drag race getting more and more mainstream and designers becoming more plentiful (with queens having more access to those designers and resources), the runways seem to be more of showcasing the garments of a designer versus a queen showing off their personality or perspective channeled through a garment. While I do love seeing spectacular fashion, it's almost a disservice to fans and viewers because drag is such a visual art that by reducing a queen down to a living clothing hanger, we don't get to grasp more of their persona and character. This top 4 I felt like Symone and GottMik did stronger in terms of marrying the use of designer fashion with coming through to show audiences their point of view and personal style, meanwhile Kandy and Rose had a bit tougher time in balancing when a runway was to show personality or just showing they nabbed a designer garment.
Idk I quite enjoy Yvie but she kind of had a gimmick as the lovable oddity don't you think? Plus her finale win was solidified by that super cool but gimmicky double face plus gymnastics. Also can be considered gimmicks.
I think for season 9 at least the queen’s were specifically told to bring reveals. Not sure if the queens were told that after season 9 but i’m sure i recall Peppermint talking about it somewhere

I think the description of Gottmik was perfect. Knowing HER strengths, she absolutely should have planned a gag when she knew she was going up against Symone or Kandy.
She either : 1. Tried to subvert expectations and had no gags, just classic lipsyncing. 2. Saved a gag for the finale lipsync. Mistake either way, but honestly she wouldve never won against Symone..the lipsync pairing was unfortunate.

Edge Of Glory was THE BEST finale lipsync songs. And I loved the performance. But it's just an awesome song. I kind of wish they did different Britney songs.
I’ll say this: they kept saying that she wasn’t doing well the whole time in the editing, but it’s weird because rose was Ike consistently nailing it the whole time. Very strange.
Yeah she was consistently in the top or safe and she was never in the bottom. The only other person not in the bottom this season was gottmik and that might have been because her lip syncing is not as good as the others.
I feel like something was going on with Rosè during the finale. She was off, she didn't feel very present and it totally felt like she was over it already. Something was up and that makes me sad. She was disconnected, not her typical bubbly self. I did love the jab at Ru over Ellie Diamond. What a great way to connect the two seasons while being funny and also a little shady.
Finally. Unfiltered ans honest opinions. I don’t know if the looks were meh or if we’ve all just run out of steam at this point. I was hoping Yuhua would also ruview Jaida, Heidi and all the other queens finale looks. Maybe even Rupauls performance look.

I don't know, to me personally, I don't like that there's so much emphasis on expensive looks the queens didn't make over actually showing the skills of the queens competing because honestly, all the lipsyncs were a chop, the reveals were a chop, and when Yvie is here and is one of THE lipsync assassins that knows how to do a reval that makes sense and can just perform, it was a big let down for me that the actual performances from all 4 were really bad. I can't front. Give me a queen in something less grand that can live in a performance over a fashion show and the lipsyncs we got.

Because all the story line and air time we got from rosé was about wanting to win and rosenali... After Denali left it was all about "I need to stop being perfect and that is hard" meanwhile Symone and mik do. Much air time and a strong story line making them resonate with the viewers more... Not saying anything bad about rosé, is just that when they edited the show they left her out.
I don't get really the part about her not having a storyline. She literally had a underdog storyline being the last Porkchop girl. She was fun, sarcastic and warm to other girls. I don't see how Mik's and Symone's storylines were any more impactful. Especially in untucked its even more visible.

The thing with Rosé's outfits is that, as yuhua said, we got no personality from her during the season (as she barely got any air time so blame the producers and her story line was "is hard to not be so perfect" ) so when the outfits came they were like "cool I guess?" and the only outfit that read Rosé was basically because of her snatch game.

I wish they change up the format a bit. They know that this top 4 aren’t dance/lip sync queens and what’s the point of having a runaway(much less 3), if it doesn’t really count? Producers should of done a lipsync with all 4 of them(but in a 1 vs 1 setting) same music and whatnot and do the fashion runaways. However, they will claim a winner for the lipsync category and a winner for the fashion category. If it’s the same person, that’s the winner and if it’s different, they will lipsync each other.
It wouldn't change much I think. Well, kinda it wouldn't - as Mik was supposed to have some bigger reveals for the finale lipsync. So with her (she won the looks) and Symone (definitely would win the lipsync). They would put them as finale two. And that could allow for Mik to win (as Symone did have two bottoms and multiple lipsyncs before). But ultimately I think Rupaul already wanted to crown Symone years before. She reminds him of himself from his younger days. Kinda like Tyra.

There's so much yall unpacked in terms of feedback and I share in the sentiments yall shared! This season I honestly felt a lot of disconnect from contestants and their looks, and the mention of a lack of perspective or point of view hits the nail on the head. So many looks rocked this season (while beautifully constructed and stunning to look at) felt disjointed from who was wearing it (like you could cut the head off and not really be able to identify who the look belonged to). With drag race getting more and more mainstream and designers becoming more plentiful (with queens having more access to those designers and resources), the runways seem to be more of showcasing the garments of a designer versus a queen showing off their personality or perspective channeled through a garment. While I do love seeing spectacular fashion, it's almost a disservice to fans and viewers because drag is such a visual art that by reducing a queen down to a living clothing hanger, we don't get to grasp more of their persona and character. This top 4 I felt like Symone and GottMik did stronger in terms of marrying the use of designer fashion with coming through to show audiences their point of view and personal style, meanwhile Kandy and Rose had a bit tougher time in balancing when a runway was to show personality or just showing they nabbed a designer garment.

I think for season 9 at least the queen’s were specifically told to bring reveals. Not sure if the queens were told that after season 9 but i’m sure i recall Peppermint talking about it somewhere

1. Tried to subvert expectations and had no gags, just classic lipsyncing.
2. Saved a gag for the finale lipsync.
Mistake either way, but honestly she wouldve never won against Symone..the lipsync pairing was unfortunate.

I’ll say this: they kept saying that she wasn’t doing well the whole time in the editing, but it’s weird because rose was Ike consistently nailing it the whole time. Very strange.
Yeah she was consistently in the top or safe and she was never in the bottom. The only other person not in the bottom this season was gottmik and that might have been because her lip syncing is not as good as the others.
I feel like something was going on with Rosè during the finale. She was off, she didn't feel very present and it totally felt like she was over it already. Something was up and that makes me sad. She was disconnected, not her typical bubbly self. I did love the jab at Ru over Ellie Diamond. What a great way to connect the two seasons while being funny and also a little shady.
She had injured ankle and allegedly she had lost consciousness before the finale as well. It wasn't her day at all.
