    • @HighPrairieSportsmen
      @HighPrairieSportsmen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Typically 30 yds and in. The three shot duck was probably 35-40 but I don't like shooting them that far.

    I am interested to know how they were not seeing you when the sun was shining right on you. I also notice you hardly ever call or use a jerk string. You must be really good at finding exactly where they want to be.

    • @HighPrairieSportsmen
      @HighPrairieSportsmen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Stay below the shadow line and they won't see you. I'd rather have the wind where I want it than the sun. In my opinion, people call too much. Knowing when to call is key. I should use a jerk string more but I don't like messing with it in heavy vegetation or icy areas.

    What the heck are you doing with all those ducks? You make jerky, smoke them...?

    • @HighPrairieSportsmen
      @HighPrairieSportsmen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I don't buy meat at grocery stores. Mallard steaks, hot duck in gravy, tater tot casserole with duck, duck chili, duck jerky, flying prime rib, duck tacos, teal poppers, etc. Duck is actually a very tasty and versatile meat once you get the hang of cooking it.

    • @ventureoutdoorswithkirk
      @ventureoutdoorswithkirk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HighPrairieSportsmen Agree. I smoke a lot of my goose/duck breasts. Also, use some to make jerky. Smoked the teal I got last year, they were awesome.
