I was 15 and there that summer of "86" I remember every inch of the boardwalk and businesses that were there at the time. Thank you for sharing this treasure brought back one of the best summers.
its been 46 years since I was there..... I was 10 yrs old and will never forget the smells of the food venues and sweet salty air..... The atmosphere of that place I shall never forget and hope to someday return.
its crazy to see how much ocean city, md has changed. ive been going there every year sometimes twice a yr since i was a baby. im 30 now.. i love seeing how it used to look. im a sucker for things like this
Wow! Driving that train was my summer job in 1987. You just brought back a whole slew of memories!! Wow! I loved that job, Still my favorite job I ever had, even after 27 years.....
Great video! Thanks! Brings back lot of memories of OC seeing the things that aren’t there anymore. I graduated in 86 and remember so many of those places that are now gone. Great to see the flashback of the Brass Balls Saloon. I miss Phillips by the Sea restaurant though. That was a special treat to go there for Sunday dinner.
1986 is the year my folks bought their townhouse condo in Ocean City Maryland Bayside up on 123rd street. Started going with family and friends to Ocean City back in the early 1970s as a kid
Great video this was the same Summer I went with my parents to look at buying a condo to rent out in Ocean City Maryland. They ended up buying a brand new condominium townhouse with a boat dock on 123rd street Bayside in Sunset Lagoon for 80k plus 5k for the Deeded Boat Dock Slip. Miss that condo we went off season from September to May when it wasn't rented out until they sold it in 1998. We grew up going to Ocean City Maryland since the 1960s, before much exited above 60th street.
I rode the Boardwalk tram many times in my childhood. At 4:22, you pass the SandyHill motel. I stayed there in 1989 shortly after turning 5. It was demolished when I hit puberty to make room for the Holiday Inn hotel & suites.
Did I just see a phone booth?! Wow I feel so old lol but it's fun to relieve old memories. I remember walking through the haunted house with my Daddy and making him go first because I was scared. The ride around haunted house is cool too with the headless Dracula.
I was 28 back then. Most of all I remember WKHI-FM ("100 KHI") at 99.9. They were a great top 40 local station that was always ahead of the curve. Now they're 99.9 Froggy country bullshit.

I am fortunate enough to drive for Uber there every summer, although much has changed the things you mentioned have not.

I don’t think it has changed that much still looks the same today most buildings are still there. It’s just a different business now.

I'm 44 and have been going to OC every year since 1981. I loved showing my kids what OC looked like in the 80s.

Thank you for posting this! Priceless scenes here of classic cars, hotels and more.

Ahh classic Ocean City. Miss the old "A" stand. **sigh**
The phone booths on the boardwalk.
Pay close attention Kids! This is what people did before cellphones and I-phones, and internet.
Still looks remarkable the same on some of those hotels
The good ole days
Bull on the Beach?!, is that still around?!.
It's still there
94th street also.
15:49, "The Dough Roller" restaurant before it burned down.
all white, no fights no theft, no bullshit.
Damn son you are on point! Lets go Brandon!
1986 at the beach, just like i remembered it...
As much as it changed mainly because of building being torn down and replaced ie The George Washington Hotel it still looks the same.
