Had an 81 concord. Best American interior hands down. Fully loaded, rich nutmeg leather upholstery and the fastest power windows I’ve ever operated

I miss AMC. They put out some great cars, in their time.

Weird. Power Windows and Seats WEREN'T available in 1978? Well, AMC certainly remedied that, quickly. They were available for the 1979's!

Saved an 80 concord from the crusher in the mid 1990's learned how to work on cars. Got it running good.

The AMC Concord was a great smooth running car with an inline six cylinder, however the one biggest problem that caused it's demise was the solid heat riser preheater tube which tended to fall off or get loose causing the high idle to get stuck. Recalibration with the choke thermostat was always required afterwards. The solid heat riser preheater tube leading from the engine block to the choke thermostat is not to be confused with the corrugated aluminum preheater hose which attached to the carburetor housing.

To sad that AMC was literally killed by Chrysler a decade later
They envied their build quality, yet they never managed to get even near to it

Renault started the kill and Chrysler finished it.

My best friend in middle school's parents had two Concords, old cars by then but good ones. Both non-a/c which was the norm in northern New England until well into the '90s , made the back of the '78 coupe a sweatbox but the early '80s 4 door was much better. They later had two Eagles, both wagons. which must've had it especially the second one which was loaded with leather seats, alloy wheels and woodgrain side panels.

Now, when I think about the ultimate Brougham, THIS is what comes to mind IMMEDIATELY, the venerable American Motors Corporation Concord. The DL & Limited had all of the plush trimmings that you would expect to find in a Cadillac or Lincoln, but even when fully loaded with every option imaginable, it STILL retailed for thousands less that any car from either of the aforementioned established luxury brands. We rented a brown Connie wagon on our first trip to Disney World, & I remember crying when we had to give it back. I had fallen that much in love with it. Anyone who calls this car ugly is COMPLETELY missing the point, in my view. Is it the most beautiful car in the world? Absolutely not. However, this car was not DESIGNED to be beautiful. It was designed to be durable, it was designed to be strong. It was designed to be sturdy. It was designed to be tough. The AWESOME tune on the stereo at 1:04..............th-cam.com/video/pSCsZWdcCdg/w-d-xo.html

I'm loving your channel, man. Did you ever test the 4WD Eagle?

In the late 80's, I had one of these as a race car. It was the biggest straight 6 you could get, with the dodge being 225 and Chev being 250. On top of that a 318 dodge 2bbl cerb would bolt right up, making this a no brainer...till the officials caught on...

Their dome light is similar to that of Ford's that they (Ford) was offering at that time.

AMC stood for all manufacturers contributed. They bought a transmission from Chrysler and A/C from GM. Fun Fact: Rolls Royce had GM parts in it.
