Ownboard AT now ships with 7 inch pneumatic AT Wheels and bushings of all types and hardens you can buy at your local skate shop. The motors of this board are bigger and less likely to overheat than the Evolves.
It's got the same battery range nearly same watthours as Evolve but I think it'll be less range bc I guess acceleration will be faster n speed will drain faster meaning less range but also the battery is in a 12s setup so that might counter not sure. But the thing I don't see is it has to have strong acceleration cuz where tf on earth r u gonna go 60kmph without speed wobbles I do it on my lacroix but rarely
Jason Adihetty yeah, But I really like how the specs sound. I ride a boosted stealth and love it but the range is...non existent. When my boosted dies I will probably buy the atlas if it’s good quality and all that good stuff
Would love to but still waiting on the flex and 3 broken X1’s to be repaired. I wish exway would be better at after sales. Can’t imagine the Atlas will drop anytime soon.
I received mine a few weeks ago. The board worked fine for about a week until something went wrong with the battery. Ownboard claims they'll ship me a new battery but haven't provided a tracking number after several requests. I decided to try to fix the battery while I was waiting. I eventually dug out and replaced a broken wire. My board works again and I can also charge it again.
Many people don’t realise sometimes theres a broken cable and cant solder. These eventually can “break” because of vibrations. A solder kit costs about €40 and just re solder the wires. Some people say it wont charge, thats also a solder issue. (Most of the time)
Another great vid guys and a great review. The board looks good under your feet. I'm really torn between this and the Evolve GTR carbon. The lack of dead man's and the brakes bother me but l'm a complete noob and doubt I'll be going super fast or trying to carve like crazy. Think I'm swaying more to this for my first board as will only really be used for commuting in the summer months. Then possibly if i get the bug or start advancing as a rider, upgrading then. Does that sound sensible? Also if that did happen, I'd then probably appreciate the upgrade a bit more. Do you know if the updated remote has a dead man's switch?
I have an ownboard carbon. Also tried Evolve GTX. I live in hilly area. My friend and I did a long uphill climb, Evolve couldnt make it to the top and ownboard did without overheating or battery sag. Evolve went into ECO mode for motors overheating and battery sag. At that point, Evolve just became obsolete. When you look at it, Evolve motors are smaller.
@@madsoliversteen1311 You tell me a board thats better then the evolve for better money. Not some biased shit review. The evolve is fantastic and is decently priced for what you get. The ownboard is cheap for a reason, its cheaper parts, the torque/acceleration is literally dogshit compared to evolve. After I owned my ownboard for a few months the battery started dying/started getting less and less KMS. The remote breaks easily, not to mention the blatent complete rip off of evolve...
The GTR doesn't drop to Eco, maybe it was a GT and those boards are like 4 years old so makes sense why it wouldn't do good on a hill. The physical size of the motor doesn't soley determine power like he showed with accelartion comparisons.
@@joshhammond1254 hi mate Just my opinion. I do not think evolve is great for the price. I just owned a verreal rs and my friend got the evolve gtr. My friend like the verreal better than his evolve. Better torque, same braking. He got better bushings, but they are so easy to swap. I can't link you a review, because all of them are freaking biased. Evolve reviews are some of the most biased reviews Ive seen. Even this guy keeps comparing to evolve and keeps saying "it has to be said its good for the price".... Well no, he doesnt have to say that. But yo, if you are happy with your evolve, that's great mate. Im just saying there are alternative which is way cheaper and more less the same. @@garretjohns1035 I checked with my friend. His is GTX. But I do see other Evolve GTR videos that it overheats going up hill. If you have one, try climbing uphill full throttle for 5 mins. It will overheat but Ownboard wound not over heat nor lose power. Maybe size of the motor has something to do with heat dissipation. Elephant in the room is that Evolve costs double and overheats going uphill.
You need to try an *actually* premium board. Evolve is cool but I'm sick of you referring to them as the best of the best! Try a Lacroix, Kaly, Trampa, or even the Metroboard X and you might end up seeing evolve as the ok quality board that cuts some corners that it is. Awesome and in-depth video as usual, keep it up! I really wanted you to do this video because I had ordered a Ownboard bamboo gt. Now that I've received my board I want to add that it didn't work straight out of the box and come to find out that many people experience this same problem with Ownboards battery and BMS system. I wish more people had spoken up about this and that I had known. I'm in the US and dealing with a Chinese company to get the board working has been very frustrating!!! So I would add that this might be a good board for the price if it actually works. If not, you've just thrown away your $1,000 USD for a nice looking board that you won't be able to ride. Chris, I never see you padded up and you ride like a maniac. Do you ever have skinned knees? :):
That sucks! I hope you get it sorted out. These are the things no one really thinks about. After sales makes a massive % in a price tag and totally worth paying if the company has a service centre in your country. I don’t pad up, it’s just restricting and annoying. If I get hurt, I get hurt. All part of the risk. Sometimes I might have super low profile knee pads on (under my pants of course). But that’s really it.
I received my Ownboard today. It works fine but I still plan to take it apart to examine the electronics and batteries. I don't suppose you live near Idaho? I'd be glad to take a look at your board an attempt to see what's wrong. I build robots and quadcopters as a hobby and I design PCBs for a living. I like to think I could figure out what's wrong with your board by comparing it to my working board. Feel free to contact me if you think there's a practical way for me to look at your board.
My Ownboard would shut off when fexed and wouldn't take a charge. I eventually found at least one of the internal wires broke. I managed to dig out the bad wire and replace it. My board is working again but it took a lot of work to dig through the black potting material they use to waterproof the batteries.
Man, you can ride the hell outta those incredibly well. You have to do a tips and tricks video next. Or just something that can help me get better? Great vid!
It changes a lot and improves multiple issues but defeats the point of the Ownboard. If you buy that board and replace all the parts with Evolve parts, you may as well just get the Evovle board ? It doesn't seem logical to me otherwise.
