For Masters, you cannot take dependents, as of what I know. The majority of schools do not require IELTS from persons from English-speaking countries. After your studies, you have 1 year to find a job to change your status.

It's a good summary of one of the key points. It's actually you that will decide if you should go for M2 or Not, like you said M1 is safer.

The majority of the schools I have seen do not. They ones in this list did not, except I missed that. They always exempt English-speaking students.
