My parents played Yes Fragile in the ‘72 beige square back. I was 4. It’s the first time in my life I asked my Dad, “what band is this”? It was while the tune ‘We Have Heaven’ was playing . He turned and said, “ the name of the band is called YES”. I’ve been obsessed ever since. I true musical snapshot in my memories.
Cool Topic! A few titles I bought early on that have stuck with me over the years: Lake - "S/T" Nektar - "Remember The Future" Camel - "Mirage" Chilliwack-"Dreams, Dreams, Dreams"
Great fun Scot. We all have our massive influences when in our younger years. And these memories stick in the grey matter. Awesome show , so interesting. The Prog Stream goes from strength to strength. Cheers good buddy. 😍🎵🎵🤘

Another great topic. I'll say it again...The Point by Harry Nilsson absolutely changed everything for me. I don't mean my taste in music but rather the way I view life. I had a horrible childhood and felt very alone and when I saw that cartoon when I was 9 or so I felt like it was made especially for me. Having been an outsider, that cartoon and those tunes made me think BIG TIME. As you know Scot, I teach special needs kids and I can pinpoint my sense of empathy directly to that cartoon. I was Oblio and I empathize with all the other Oblios out there. I still harbour deep feelings for that story. If you're unfamiliar check it out and you'll see what I mean.
Two albums I bought for $2 from a friend who became a Kiss fan and thought The Beatles and Paul McCartney weren't cool enough 🙄(late 1975 folks): The Beatles: Let It Be Paul McCartney/Wings: Venus And Mars Two albums I bought for the album covers that made me a prog rock fan permanently: Kansas: Song For America Supertramp: Crime Of The Century Two more albums I heard constantly growing up(my Dad being a jazz fan)which led me to jazz-rock more than jazz, but I still enjoy these albums: Dave Brubeck: Take Five Miles Davis: Kind Of Blue
I grew up on prog and got to see ELP, Zappa, Yes, Zeppelin, RTF, Mahavishnu, UK, DiMeola, Utopia, Weather Report, Miles, Pink Floyd. I still listen to most of these bands.
Led Zeppelin 4 , Iron Maiden Somewhere in Time , Abba The Album , Simon And Garfunkel Bridge over troubled Water , Phil Collins Face Value , Rush Moving Pictures , Depeche Mode People are People , The Police Synchronicity , AC/DC Back in Black , Pink Floyd Animals ..,
What did I miss, Scot? You are dismantling live Sundays? Also, you need to hold people to your directive: 3 albums that define your youth. Not Cody taking away other people’s time and not Kevin listing 40. Infuriating as a viewer. Love you.
I am watching the episode now pretty awesome

Two albums I bought for $2 from a friend who became a Kiss fan and thought The Beatles and Paul McCartney weren't cool enough 🙄(late 1975 folks):
The Beatles: Let It Be
Paul McCartney/Wings: Venus And Mars
Two albums I bought for the album covers that made me a prog rock fan permanently:
Kansas: Song For America
Supertramp: Crime Of The Century
Two more albums I heard constantly growing up(my Dad being a jazz fan)which led me to jazz-rock more than jazz, but I still enjoy these albums:
Dave Brubeck: Take Five
Miles Davis: Kind Of Blue
