- This is a continuation of Pangea Pepper Blooms. We explore a color-layering technique over the shaded project we created last time. This is an age-old technique I use in botanical illustration and is called grisaille.

😲 Wow. Can't wait to try this one.
Thank you very much! I enjoyed every step of this beautiful zentangle! Your explanations are very instructive, now I just want to learn more and more!
So glad you are inspired! Keep exploring.
So fabulous to see what you have been taught as a scientific illustrator. It has filled in some gaps that I had. I can do this!
Wonderful! Yes you can!!!!
Thank you so much Annie! I knew that I watched your videos on the Pangea Pepper Bloom and when I finally found it again, I was elated! I am trying to make some bookmarks for a bridal shower and thought this pattern would be perfect! Since the bridesmaids colors are lilac, I will try to blend lilac, pink, etc . Thanks again, Jane franco, CZT 34!
How lovely… thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Great information, thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome info about color layering and the demo was very helpful! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful picture. I really enjoyed watching you create your artwork.
Thank you so much 😀
Loved this ✨👌🏾
Glad you liked it!!
👌
Beautiful, I'm on my 3rd tile with this. Just love it but I think I will stop after 3 but I was thinking the pattern would look really nice on a book mark. I have found that a gray colored pencil works well for shading.
So glad this one inspires you. Yes - it would look good on a bookmark. And I am glad you keep doing it. Practice makes perfect, right?
😊👍
Thank you!
I’m new at zen tangle and I followed you in doing this tangle. Can I put this on zen tangle mosaic page of my inspired tile by you. I follow you and love all you illustrations.❤
Yes of course! Thanks, Mary.
Beautiful colors, but would it be better if the flowers had not been shaded with graphite first?
Shading with graphite first is from my classical training as a botanical illustrator. We would never shade on top of color. It's a method called grisaille. Thanks for you question.
Art by me ,hi just brought the Tombow Dual Brush Pen colorless blender Amazon $5.95 your one here in Australia is 33 $ never seen these before .hope it works .
That should work just fine, Andrew. I like the Tombow art supplies.
