    Just giving my input on this. I've been on safe supply for two years and it has saved my life and I am so thankful for it. I've been going to the pharmacy every morning to get my kadian and my Dilaudid which I take with one injection before going for my daily workout. I am a productive member of society(have a job, relationship, and am very healthy going to the gym everyday). I was 130lbs when I started and had overdosed and almost died numerous times. I am now 175lbs and very happy with my life. Thanks to safe supply

      look how badly this has back fired over the last 4 years. record breaking overdoses now in Vancouver since "safe supply" was introduced. not to be a bummer but this guy has done some f**cked up things from what i've heard. putting a knife to a womans throat to rob her, abused his girlfriends and went to jail for it. he is acting like a victim here, but he was absolutely an abuser as well. he kinda leaves that part out. i know if he was my abuser, i wouldn't be good for my mental health seeing him praised like this. i'd like to know how much the bc ndp are paying him to endorse their drug programs. i know hes getting paid to speak etc. sorry, just playing devils advocate here.

      As well in reply to the rest of your comment…. Everyone has done bad things they regret. It does not mean they can’t change and do good now and in the future. Everyone deserves a second chance. I’m sure you would want a second chance if you needed it as well. So instead of throwing shade on someone for the sake of slinging dirt at then maybe make a constructive comment… just playing devils advocate

    I have worked as a RN, BSN for years with people that use drugs or self medicate. Thanks for your voice and advocacy. Anyone that hasn’t walked in the shoes that have battled in the frontlines of the overdose crisis should not say anything negative about what Guy has to say especially since it is based not only on someone’s pain, what he talks about is based on evidence. Harm Reduction is evidenced based. Safe supply is evidence based. And it is health care. Be kind. Guy is sharing because he is caring. Thank you for sharing.

    Our drug policies cause more harm than the substances themselves... in fact our drug policies are the exact reason the street supply is so toxic. Perhaps it's time to consider a new approach... Well spoken Guy, thank you.

    • @anthonymc6797
      @anthonymc6797 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is not a fact. People need to take responsibility . Is not everyone else's job to supply drugs. However is much profit . You had a problem with drugs is your problem. You fix that and there is plenty of help .
      Most don't believe they have a problem and don't want help. But they want free drugs.
      The drug supply is toxic because it is impossible to keep up with the demand .
      Because there is never enough
      As well people want fentanyl. There are many articles on that , why don't you do a bit of research.
      Afghanistan has plenty of safe supply . Maybe call them up and see how that is going.

      @@lucasstanding6510 just a FYI last year safe supply in BC killed 22 people who purchased pills that were diverted. This is 22 people that were directly killed by safe supply. It is a disaster. If you are in Vancouver go to hastings and main in the morning when the addicts get their pills. You can literally buy 100s or thousands if you hang around long enough. The majority of it is sold to get cash for fentanyl. Now who would have thought that an addict would do that?

    Thankfully in Canada they give all the drug addicts 8 mg Dilaudid pills I think for a day. Which is made them very cheap on the street for all of us people that actually have pain and can't get our medication because of addicts. 😂 Whatever works best is even better than I'm sure what a doctor would prescribe for pain.

    • @Ex-HomelessSoul
      @Ex-HomelessSoul 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not true. It's the level of incompetence, in those working with addicts &/or homeless, that hinders their level of achievements. I'm a perfect example of that. It's also the message I most try to convey to others.
      Also.. What happens to all the real addicts needing help, while they create more homeless, hereon addicts. 99% of addicts I knew/ran with, were crack/meth heads. The needle & spoon was always a secondary option.
      I've walked most these Canadian city streets homeless, drunk, and high on crack. Most addicts are cross addicted, and will use what's available. Peace
