UNREST really is a very important and insightful documentary. I've had ME for decades and there is so little understanding. It was Ren's vlog from that time that led me to him, long before the music.
The other takeaway is how Ren found friends by being his authentic self. Sam and Connor have remained through the thick of it. I presume some of the others, like Luke, also. Brighton, it seems, has played an essential part of his life.
Unrest was so hard to watch just because it's such a horrible illness. I had no idea about CFS/ME before Ren, so this documentary had me in tears. My heart goes out to all you warriors 💚
Ren was only 24-25 here. Still did not havcorrect diagnosis. He is so thin. Same year he slipped into psychosis. And video Crutch. Unrest is available on You Tube and is an eye opening, heart breaking documentary. Ren has a brief intetview in it plus the song of course. Side track: A recent Renegade was dying of cancer and esnted this rendition if the song for his funeral. He came to the Rabbit Hole fan club for help editing, and actualky Ren edited it and sent it to him as well as saying personal greeting during subsequent live chats. We woyld never have kniwn except Rob pisted the story in a comment to one of Ren's videos Rob has sunce past.
I also think it is a way of telling his story being reasonably accurate, as there was confusion and inaccuracies regarding the illness and its timeline. Most only had part of the story, and I think he wanted to put the record straight.
I'm horrified for whatever it was that happened to Ren when he was passed out at the crazy lady's house and that her husband was in on it. *shivers*. That version of Patience is listed in YT as Patience | Ren Gill | M.E. (th-cam.com/video/284ugnS_ruQ/w-d-xo.html) (my favorite version) and on the spots as Patience by Bear McCreary/Ren. Unrest is a fantastic Documentary. The defiance and steadfastness of him in the last verse uplifts me every time. This was 2013/2014. This is my most listened to Ren song. That little laugh at the end, breaks my heart.
The fiance was Bibi I think. He did a song and video with her called Crutch. The song is so hard to watch. Ren is obviously very ill in the video. He is too skinny and writhes around the floor in his underwear. He came home after going to the ER and was in a bad head space but still recorded the video.

"What doesn't kill you makes you weird at parties" 😀great 👍❤
Yes, I have seen it, too! It was very valuable to be more understanding of Ren's journey. I highly recommend it.
Thank you for watching these, you are so compassionate and respectful.
Every time I see this video of ren performing patience, It makes me want to just give him the biggest warm most loving mama bear hug 🥺🥹💜

I wish more people watched Unrest. It is such an important piece of filmmaking.
As a sufferer for decades, ME sucks! ❤️🩹

Your kind heart shines through in your reactions. Thank you sir.
Im really enjoying your insights to the chapters. Thanks for doing them.
These diaries are fascinating. I wonder if he felt that he needed everything on record…coz he’s constantly living under the shadow of death?
He said he did them to help others in need of someone they can lean on. Especially those who have similar stories like him.

Chapter 6 is the hardest I thought i would let you know to prepare
❤
He's such a good storyteller, but I wish he hadn't had to go through so many hardships to hone that skill.
