Did these videos saved my life. I'm practicing kof 2002 because in my unit there in an arcade cabinet with the game on it and everyone plays it, I'm Mexican btw. Also want to buy kof 15 when it comes out so it is super helpful.
These videos needs to be in the actual games. The KoF games that have a tutorial just tell you how do do the different jumps and abilities but they don't tell you what each one is for so you end up just guessing and messing with them until you put the game down.
@DandyDLC ok, I'll credit you then. Can't believe I didn't find this earlier, could have saved me lot of work, as these days most people learn best from videos. I'm going to pop this in the XIII basics guide on orochinagi. If you don't answer I'll assume that's cool. Thanks again for a great guide!
Sorry for the late response, the inbox thing doesn't show every comment for some reason. On the case of KOFXII, empty hop throw isn't as relevant to the game for that reason. You can empty hop -> dp/super/guard attack but that's pretty silly. The short answer is, you just don't really use hop grab anymore in kof12. As for running up, that's more of a spacing issue. Just use long range attacks to keep people out.
Just watched this and wao. Thanks for expanding my knowledge in KoF. What's the difference between this version and Part 2 though? I have yet to check it out but for some weird reason, my internet chickens out. xD
Anyone know for the option select method, where holding back and pressing C against the opponent's hop-in works for KOFXIII and KOFXIV? If you'll still block against a hop-in attack or nail an empty hop?
In KOF there are timing differences and throw invulnerability that allow most mix up situations to be dealt with in some way. Now ambiguous cross-ups or Angel, good luck :7)
@@DandyDLC guess is just a matter of muscle memory and getting used to visually. I've always sucked at pure 2d games anyways but I will retry my old kof 2002.
2021 and this is so useful, damn for a 2009 video it holds up so so incredibly well, this is pure gold
This is probably the most charming guide I’ve ever seen

honestly amazing how high quality this was for a fighting game video made in 2009, Atlus should have hired you on the spot.
+Dandy J Please do a part 3 !!!!
Should be a wonderful place to start. A new era of KOF is upon us. The fighting game genre is back! :)
@karlsimposter Sure, fine with me. Thanks for the feedback!

I'm guessing KFXII is a good place to start, right?
hello
You must give up this hole. :(
There are too many 50/50 stiuations. And how are we supposed to react to less than 5 frame attacks!! This is ridiculous (yet so fun)
