Nice light show! From my side of the hill it was pretty scary. Having lived below ground for 2 years I had not actually seen storms for a while, usually slept through them. Being above ground now will take some getting used to. So glad it wasn't my shift when that debris flew off the building onto that family :( The whole thing was horrible, not sure I would have handled it as well as "Brute" did. Keep filming "SS" :)
A different storm yesterday eve at 6pm killed a little girl walking downtown with her family, when a piece of metal from construction fell onto the sidewalk. North of us in Camrose, the Big Valley Jamboree performance stage collapsed, killing 1 and injuring 75, and 2 are still in critical condition.
i notice whenever we get a loud thunder, its impact shakes the cars and causes their alarms to set off. i left my apartment today in the morning, and i saw half a tree broken off, the wind was so strong that it caused it to snap, unless it was lightning
i also noticed the exceedingly hot weather in last couple days, which could have also led to the high intensity of this storm..this would have been wickid to see in daylight
For wind speed stats for a specific date & location, go to wunderground (search in your browser; youtube does not accept addresses in messages) and search for your city, e.g. Calgary, AB. Under the "Current Conditions" box you will see a blue heading bar "history and almanac"

Where abouts in Sandstone because I'm just across in Beddington, just off Berkshire Blvd i see sandstone from my window
Lightning actually hit a house right by my house last night just over in Sandstone
I'll be uploading more videos from last night, especially of the gust front that whipped through, man that was intense!!
which website is this? i was curious to know how fast those wind gusts were last night
That was an awesome storm but it was scary.⚡☁
Thanks! Actually its just a Canon Powershot SD890 digital elf. Nothing fancy
wunderground website says the wind speed at 2am Aug 03 was 64.8km/h, gusting to 85. It almost bent in half my 20-foot columnar aspen tree.
Very nice Natedawg!!!:)
I'm in Sandstone and the light through my window was bright enough to wake me up, and the thunder shook the house (my dog went apeshit:)
PS I live in NW Calgary, in Tuscany
I believe so. It scared the crap out of me nonetheless!! (but in a good way : )
