When you mentioned 8 and 12 degree intake valve head back angles. It made me think that would be a great test video to grind a dozen valves or so with different seat back cuts as well as no back cuts at all. Flow them all in a head with mellow and agressive ssr lay backs and show a comparison. That would be super interesting.

That's a lot of extra work to make the heads work right. Most people won't ever think of that stuff.

u say u want a dyno? first order of getting what u want in life, speak it aloud and mean it, picture it by daydreaming of a dyno in your head. think and talk about it so much, u start dreaming of a dyno. before u know it, ull have your dyno. i believe spoken word means more than we think it does. thank u for ur time sir. i appreciate u

Your videos make me feel like i know absolutely nothing about heads and have probably made mistakes on several engines i build. Never anything catastrophic but probably not making the power they could. Thank you!

Built an ls3 with the 11 degree Frankenstein heads and had no issues with piston to valve using a normal aftermarket piston. Low-mid .600 lift cam. If I was a betting man these are the same castings as the m311.

I have been watching about a year but didn't join youtube until a month or so ago. Yes I subscribed. Love the tech and head reviews. The amateur head review maybe the best. I was with a friend picking up a set of AFR LS heads up from D&A Machine Shop in Canton, GA from Andy Key. He surfaced them, checked the guides etc etc. We were talking tech as I'm always looking to learn more. For background, I am not in the industry and work on my stuff as a hobby to save money and out of a general distrust of local tooners. I may never port my own cylinder heads but I want to know if the guy working on my stuff is feeding me a load of crap.
Anyways, I mentioned your videos and that I like you because you tell it as you see it. He perked up and said they did Engine Masters some of the same same years you entered. A cool small world moment and that the shop doing our work trusted the guy I was watching over the interweb. Made us feel much better all the way around.
Keep up the good work and take care of yourself. Dad went afib and passed out the first time in a hotel in Indy as we were getting ready to head out for an F1 race 15 or so years ago. Yes our healthcare system sucks. BTW the Europe videos were interesting too. I'd watch more and if others don't want to I'll assume they'll have Europe in the title.

    Hey Eric,
Tim here.....yea, no back cut in NO BUENO!!!!......i learned about back cuts in 1982......my first motor (Pontiac 400) had stock heads massaged by Nunzi himself.....(my brother knew him personally).....and ALL my intake valves had a 30° back cut (none on exhaust)...."stock" Poncho's REALLY need that gain in low lift flow, it accentuates the BIG torque a Pontiac has......so BACK CUT THEM INTAKES EVERYBODY!!!.....you sound in good spirits, hope ur heart is back up to snuff.....take care!!!

@@WeingartnerRacing you mentioned a-fib or getting hit with paddles again in another reply. I hope you’re feeling better! When my wife was having a-fib after a triple bypass they put her on Amiodarone. It seemed to work, no more a-fib once out of the hospital (a week). It was for a matter of weeks, not forever. Regardless, stay healthy!

Have You Ported Any Stock Or Aftermarket Gen 3 Hemi Heads Before? Pre Eagle And Eagle 5.7 And Or Apache 6.4 Hemi? Been Watching Your Videos And Getting Lots Of Awesome Tips. One Day I Plan To Destroy A Set On My Jeep hahaha (hopefully not) They Would Be My First Ever Porting. My 04 Monte Carlo Has CNC Ported Heads. They Had Some Shrouded Valve Areas Casting Marks That I Could Have Smoothed Out / Blended For Some Flow But They Are Cast Iron Heads And I Waited 2 Years For Them And Alot Of $ So The Fear Of Screwing Up Was Too Scary haha. I Know All The Basics Apply To 99% Of Heads Just Looking For Hemis Specific Tips And Warnings.

HAve you ever heard how much an exhaust port should flow compared to the intake on a turbo diesel. Ive been told that they should flow the same. I also watched a video about a recast cummins head and they said the exhaust actually flowed more than the intake. Any thoughts on this

@@WeingartnerRacing If you were going to flow a head with the intake manifold bolted to it, would you have valves in all the other cylinders to prevent air from coming into the manifold from the cylinders not being flowed or wouldnt this be an issue.
