    I have a suggestion for the use of the can opener. If you do it in a backward motion instead of forward motion it will be much easier. You won’t have to keep punching a new hole every time. By the way great job on the video and I hope your channel grows.

    I brought this little device. I keep it in my wallet. This little edc device has got me out of a lot of situations. It's worth the price to carry something like this. I don't always carry my edc backpack which has multiple items for certain situations. In using the device it's best to have a glove on the hand you use so that it's more comfortable to use. Having something is better than having nothing especially when you are in a pinch. Nice video dude.

    the can opener has a hook near the blade that catches on the can rim, then you lever the cutting blade into the can and with a rocking motion work around the lid
    it's not just forced into the lid.
    To use it as a compass , hang the card from a string in the lanyard hole, you don't have to float it in water.

    Oh!. By the way. In using the compass part. You lay the card on a flat surface. Then put water in the center of the opening till it's at the top. Take a small sewing needle that you have magnetized cut it down to size and place it in the center. Now you have a make shift compass. It ain't perfect. But it works.

    The lanyard hole is useful. If you need to apply torque, while using 4 position wrench on this card. By using the lanyard you reduce the the risk of injury. You can use the wrenches with out physically touching the multi tool card.

    I carry this at work everyday because it's the only tool that sits in the single card holder stuck to the back of my smart phone. (Something I always have to have on me) Put the end of a 10 in 1 klein (or Milwaukee) screwdriver in your pocket, and you can use the socket section to add torque, and now you have a strong batch of screwdrivers, plus knife, and other tools on you at all times with almost zero added pocket space used.

      What Aaron means is you hook it the same way but you move the cutting edge toward the hooks direction then move hook back farther and continue the cut edge again. In the Military it was called a P38 can opener and it folded up. Worked much better than this. Not sure about you but I've never found a wing nut that would fit in that butterfly slot. I think it is suppose to be used with the knife and used as a pair of scissors.. Just my thought.

    Thanks for sharing a thorough test of the tool. I think sometimes it's referred to as a multi-function tool, in which perhaps the lanyard hole could be qualified as a function. Also, because of the size and amount of tools in such a small piece of thin steel, one can hardly expect it to work well in most of its functions. Even in large tools, a multi-function tool normally doesn't work as well as a dedicated one.

    Extremely well done presentation and honest. No needless jibber jabber and I appreciate that. Other channels tend to go on and on and use this as a chance to show off their other EDC tools and the meat of the video gets lost in the confusion. Your focus on the Credit Card Tool was long needed. Everyone has come across one of these at some point, but few have had the chance to see if they do what they are made to do. You covered that perfectly. Thank you. You summed it up well. They don't take up much room and they do what they are supposed to. I have these planted all around in my packs and bags...Just in case. Thank you and look forward to more on your channel.

    Hey buy
    As far as the little hole on the wrench is concerned, it is useful. Try tying dental floss to it and hang it from a branch and it will point north and south. You can use a lot of dental floss rapped around it because that can come in handy as well.
    Thanks

      Exactly. It is partly magnetised I believe. And if you don't have dental floss, and are in a true survival situation, one could always use the blade and harvest something similar. Like a thread off the user's clothing, hair, or fibres from a branch etc

    Like others point out, your review is the most useful I've seen on TH-cam. You might also review the common keychain tools. That eleven can be expanded. Here are some other uses:
    (1) The lanyard hole can be used to bend wire.
    (2) The wing-nut tool can be used to wrap some string as fishing line around the tool. Keep it in place with tape.
    (3) The mirrored surface is small but still might work for signaling. You might test the range.
    (4) I've played around with the compass on several of these tools and I'd hate to depend on any of them in an emergency situation. The pointing is too uncertain. It makes more sense to carry an actual compass. Someone should create a compass with a sealed needle that is thin enough to fit in a wallet.

    yeah, the compass wont work on a moving river or anything, but this can also be offset i figure by simpllying collecting some water in some kind of vessel, and putting it into a bowl or something and then using it as such.
    It is useless if you put it in any kind of moving water, but you can still turn that into still water if you have the proper way to do so.
    But really I find it hard to believe any actual prepper wont have a compass on them, and this is really a last ditch thing.

    You can also tie the device with paracord to a suitable stick and create a makeshift axe which is easier to use for most crafting situations than using the knife blade itself
    You can wrap the tool with a bit of cloth, paracord or even thick leaves at a push will make the tool easier to grip if you don’t have gloves
    Remember that these tools were originally designed by BCB International (before being copied) for use in survival packages. The military would typically always have thick gloves available.
    BCB also designed the tool’s wing nut slot to thread the thinner paracord through and wrap around the opposite edge for storing a length of paracord
    This also makes it more comfortable to hold

    Went on vacation just before Christmas and could of used the bottle opener in the hotel room! Instead I used the old door lock trick. You put the bottle cap in the whole the dead bolt slides into.

    This is very useful. One of these came in my Breath of the Wild Collector's box, but it it didn't provide any explanations as to what these tools do. The only obvious ones to me were the saw and bottle opener.

    Very informative video. However, you mentioned mostly everything on the card is awkward and not easy to use. I imagine tools like this aren't meant to be the easiest to use but rather a tool that's able to get the job done. It's definitely not going to be as easy to use as a regular knife, or can opener, or screwdriver, etc. But I think the purpose is to give you something compact that's able to help you out if you're ever in a bind where a tool like this is needed. Great video.

    You did a good job of explaining the functions of the tool. Frankly, I use the hole on the corner to put my key ring through it, LoL. This tool could be a life saver if you ever find yourself in the woods or if you live in a place where you get a lot've natural disasters . I could think of a hundred things that could happen to you and you don't have a simple tool to work with. I have this tool and I take it with me everywhere I go. Thank for the video young man.

    Super helpful. I was looking at Swiss Army knives but finally realized that outside of a knife which I already have I’m probably not gonna use a lot of the tools on a Swiss Army knife very often so it’s mainly just for incidentals. When I saw this card I thought this is what I need for incidentals or emergencies, but I didn’t know how to use all the different features. So thank you for the video really helpful.

    Great video, the compass thing. So you need a piece of styrofoam to make it work? And all you did was lay it in some water and it automatically pointed north? How does this tool do this? Pretty cool.

    • @KnifeManual
      @KnifeManual  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep, pretty much anything that floats works. One thing I noticed was the water had to be ABSOLUTELY still, so I’m not sure how practical it would be in a real life situation. Anyhow, it is pretty cool:)

    • @simonh6371

      It works by magic, like a compass does. Supernatural forces make it point north. Nothing to do with the earth's magnetic field

    would not recommend having on a lanyard or keychain as the knife edge, saw blade, or even the can opener could knick you. Feel like the odds of tha happening are more likely than a specific use case where this card would help.

    As regards the can opener, it's your own fault because you're doing it wrong. This can opener is designed to cut the can with its sharpened edge, so you must proceed in the opposite direction. Then it'll be much easier.

  • @DongCornelius
    @DongCornelius 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You used the direction ancillary indication part of the tool wrong. You’re supposed to put it on a flat surface and put a couple drops of water in the hole, then put a magnetized piece of metal like a piece a paper clip and it will pull north

  • @Aries13Mars
    @Aries13Mars 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Hi Bud :o) Well Done! I'am going to go buy one soon..heck for the price and the ease of carrying it, it will be worth it! One thing that I wanted to tell you though! you were using the can opener the wrong way! You are supposed to cut pulling the blade "towards you"! This will make it much easier!..you should be able to open a can of bean in about 15 - 20 seconds. There's a bit of a knack to doing it,..but once you get going the right way, its a really smooth operation. Have a great day! :o)
