They were making fun of this ridiculous show on History called "Ancient Aliens" where a bunch of 'experts' would pose all these ridiculous theories about how there's no way mankind could've possibly done these great feats (like the pyramids) without the help of aliens. I watched some, they were relatively entertaining...but they would just end up pissing me off.
So with pawning jewelry, it can get pretty complex on pricing. If it's from a well known designer brand you can get a decent amount for it but anything that isn't, they give you what the actual materials are worth. This can fluxgate greatly depending on how much the market price of the metals and gems are when you go to sell it. The main reason is that if it's not a piece they'd put in their jewelry case they essentially sell it for materials, much like scarping an old car instead of selling it.

I almost baught a copper pan pot set from a tv show but I found that same set at an estate sale, brand new, for 10 dollars Also. Censors K*** but not F*** lol

It's really only worth it if you bought the gold at a low and sell it when it's over 10% what you paid... Example I had a 50 gram bar I bought for 2600 and sold for 90% spot price 18 months Later for 3100 when I needed cash... Not much of a profit but better than banks
