【Introduction】Love Between Fairy and Devil is a period Xianxia directed by Yi Zheng ("Young Blood"), starring Esther Yu ("A Writer's Odyssey"), Dylan Wang ("Phanta City"), with special appearances by Xu Haiqiao ("A Dream of Splendor"), Guo Xiaoting ("Chinese Paladin 3"), and Charles Lin ("Café. Waiting. Love"). This drama is adapted from the novel of the same name by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang, which focuses on the story of the angsty love between the arrogant big devil Dong Fang Qing Cang and the soft and cute little fairy Xiao Lan Hua. The goddess of the Pixin tribe was exterminated by the demon Dongfang Qingcang (played by Dylan Wang), and was reborn as a low-ranking fairy in the heavenly realm ten thousand years later. In order to gain freedom, Dongfang Qingcang has to sacrifice the soul of Xiao Lan Hua to lift the spell seal on his body. In the process, this devil who has broken his love and desperation falls in love with the gentle and lovely Xiao Lan Hua......

His fight against the Heavenly palace and against Changheng was just a warm up after 30,000 years in prison. Imagine him in his prime before being sealed. It was so easy for him to eliminate everybody. Dylan and his dubber truly took this role at heart and they were both brilliant! Its so hard to act intimidating and powerful with limited facial expressions and Dylan took it to another level. This is why he was loved because he knew exactly how the character truly felt. The arrogance, intimidation, power and dominance was seen. The casting director nailed it. Dylan you deserve a round of applause 👏👏👏

the fight between Dongfang Qingcang and Lord Changheng is basically the definition of "a hero would sacrifice you to save the world, a villain would destroy the world to save you" lol i love Dongfang Qingcang. yes, he's saving Orchid at this point because if she dies, he dies, but he had no reason to listen to her. he could've easily killed Changheng but didn't because she asked

True that shows which are hit gets so many seasons but I don’t understand why this show which is super hit is not getting season 2 ?
This is honestly one of the best portrayals of a villain/hero I’ve ever seen. I mean a guy so damn powerful that he merely snaps and the Haishi cauldron breaks apart, the highest of the gods are nothing before him - all of their power put together cannot touch him. All of this and his badassery ends in just the first few episodes. I was so hyped up by how they were building him up to be untoucheable through his hellfire command and thought since all the immortals are clearly no match for him, ultimately he will be the one facing off with Taisui - his hellfire vs the evil qi. When he defeats Tasui and saves the three realms, he naturally gets his respect and position across all lands and everyone bows down to him and the inner fighting seizes. But I was so disappointed that not only did he lose his hell fire and become just a suffering body throughout most of the show but was reduced to a mere bait for the evil god in the end, instead of the epic showdown that we deserved. They tried to soothe the viewers with the glazed fire bit but honestly I can’t digest a guy as powerful as shown in these scenes going down like DongFang did. I really hope there is a season 2 in which they redeem him. He deserves better.

the major theme of this drama was to show that “emotions” are not weak and instead they motivated and lead people towards meaningful purposes. the strong learned to protect the weak, and the weak learned to be stronger and support the strong. if Dongfang Qingcang would just be a ruthless conquerer, then he’s not different from common evil villains/criminals

He was absolutely one of the best power characters ever..his presence and attitude is so dashing!!! Especially his hell fire display when he was saving orchid!..... Although in the middle he lost his power and suffered.i think it's pretty logical that From the pain and suffering he gained a power even his ancestors didn't.since to wield hell fire one must be void of emotions through great pain. His ancestor was betrayed and she got rid of her emotions. So the glazed fire is somewhat the opposite of it ..to wield it one must go through pain, suffering and loss without going insane.and he really went through a lot .he was like the freaking god of pain. And thus he gained the fire of emotions .means hes a real talent!

I really enjoyed this drama. Its one of my favorites this year. Despite the dubbing, Dylan Wang did a great job with this role. Would love to see a S2 or a modern day drama with Ester and Dylan. The fight scenes were epic. I wish we had more with Dongfang using his hellfire. My favorite moment in this clip starts @ 13:55. CH is working hard to beat him, but Dongfang isn’t even breaking a sweat when fighting him. He just waves his arm - left, right, up, down and easily tosses CH like a rag doll. Now that’s power.

Once I got over all the flying and hand gestures I really enjoyed this drama. I think Dylan Wang did a fantastic job. When they switched bodies from Moon Supreme to fairy their acting was superb.
To me, 18:18-18:30 is epic. Everything was on point. Each actor had a monologue for me even when there wasn't a single word spoken and it went something like this:
18:18 CH "die"
18:20 RH "oh sh!t, we're doing this?"
18:21-18:25 DFQC "Right, you're not going to run. Hm, how do I not upset my Orchid too much. Ugh, whatever"
18:31 RH "yep, we're doing this."

I think I might be in the minority here, but I was equally amazed not only by his ability to look like a cool villain, a powerful and charismatic character, but also by how they portrayed him as someone with an immense capacity to love beneath that seemingly cold hero and typical bad boy facade. He loved his father and nanny deeply in his childhood. He loved his people. He loved the flower fairy immensely. He loved his brother. He loved that dragon. And he was willing to do anything to protect everyone he loved. It's just a bit disappointing that amidst the flashy battle scenes involving DongFang XianZi, this aspect seemed to take a backseat.

I am totally in love with this story. It was entertaining, funny, romantic....love the outfits, the actors executed their roles very well. Love Dylan....I can see him in movies as well. He has a bright future ahead of him.
