I have been voting by mail since way before Trump or Covid. It is a superior way to vote.

The postal board has to vote him out. The president has no say.
I do believe that one state has been using mail in ballots for over 30 years without any controversy, what the republicans have never liked about it is, more people vote and the more people that vote ends up with bigger defeats for republicans.
As for DeJoy, as I understand it, it needs a quorum of post office directors to vote him out of his job and they can't get enough people to become directors to make the quorum. The stupidity of American law and politics says the president cannot dismiss him.

I discovered the reason Louis was not removed, even after he removed equipment from post offices to skew the vote for Trump and it was disheartening

I'm a disabled vet. I've voted by mail while in the military and now. This is what I joined the military to protect our freedoms and now they're trying to take my voice. I'll vote blue all the way down the ballot. Let's save the US again. 🇺🇲

I have a disability and always vote absentee even though I have to recertify every February in PA. This includes violating my privacy by telling them my diagnosis and my physicians' name, number, and address. They can't deny me though as I'm not about to be disenfranchised in what will be my last and most important election in my lifetime.

@@ew4932I’ve only been voting by mail in Pa since the pandemic, but I have trouble getting around, so it has been a godsend to be able to vote this way in the Pa primary and general elections. I don’t plan on voting in person,going forward,either. My polling place in Philadelphia has moved a few times in recent years, so I’m just going to vote by mail from now on.

Vote early check your registration and identification help others make sure the person name is spelled correctly on the ballot and report any and all discrepancies immediately.
No one wants to take away voting by mail, but that is something Trump will find hard to manipulate, although his choice for postmaster general Louis dejoy (another trumpet) might just give him a hand by removing extra boxes put up for election. Haven't heard much from him lately, and have family members who were career postal workers doing fine until Vonshitsinpants (Trump) tried and will keep trying to change that. Privatization, make more money for the CEOs and screw the workers.

@@Xio189 A lot of the military back Trump. I don't know why after the way Trump talks about the military/veterans. There were a lot of military at the January 6th insurrection on Trump's side.

This is why it is so important to get people to vote blue at the state level. I'm tired of seeing us on the defense, even if we win against these lawsuits. Wouldn't it be nice to see states that these type of lawsuits don't even get thought up because they know legislation/laws at the state level will stop them?

I hate the guy- He’s basically a 10-year-old and a fascist, a very poor student and intellectually zero. Maybe even negative numbers🤣. Not fit for any public office and never was.

Good to hear they are trying to fight instead of compromise . Previously they assumed the GOP was honest and would honor an agreement .
Agreed but we cannot always count on our defenders ability to win against these lawsuits. This is why we must get more people to vote blue at the local and state levels. I dream of a day when every state constitution has barriers that make it impossible for lawsuits like this one to even be considered because they know they would lose.

Yes, exactly. That’s also why Louis Joy is trying to move the processing plant in Nevada to a spot where it can’t receive mail from California on days that Donner pass is closed- which is many winter days.

I have career family members from the postal service in my house, so they serve as a reliable source of information. Has the joy attempted to replace the postal vehicles which in some cases are 30 plus years old, breakdown constantly, and sometimes sit on the side of the road disabled for days.No of course not. He's too busy trying to make it into a business, make more profit and cut where you can. They never mentioned that the US postal service has some of the best rates in the entire world. If you are inconvenient at a local post office in any way you can thank the joy because of his staff consolidation.

If my Federal tax return is postmarked by midnight April 15th, it's considered a timely filing no matter when it is received by the IRS. Citizens cannot control the movements of the postal service.
Wait. Isn't Nevada one of the states DeJoy is trying to shut down postal processing stations and move them out of state to slow down and eliminate service?

Jackie Rosen is fighting dejoy because he’s trying close a much needed PO in NV and divert mail into California before it can be delivered to Nevadan’s on a ridiculous route that gets a lot of weather closures . This will especially affect a lot of seniors and retired military from receiving things like medications and checks . DeJoy needs to disappear, he’s totally unqualified and his intentions don’t appear to be in the best interest of the USPS or the good people who have relied on the USPS over 200 yrs .

Democrats have to be more proactive. If you vote by mail be sure to return it asap and not wait till the last minute. I drop my ballot off 1 week before at my township office to be sure it is there and at a good time.
I would even be ok with a law made that ballots need to be postmarked 1 week prior, as long as they’re all counted.
And make sure, Mail-in Voters, that you follow every nit-picky rule they impose - be mindful of the deadlines, watch out for Post Office shenanigans that DeJoy brings (like slowing the mail way down at election time), sign and date ballots, sign and date and kiss the envelop if required. Read EVERYTHING and do it!
The problem being the delayed delivery of mail,no matter when it's mailed
"No votes counted after election day" - does that also mean no recounts? The GOP may not have thought this through.

When my parents were in their 60s they voted by mail. I'm in my 60s and I vote by mail. I can't stand in the 8 hour lines the repugnant party created in democratic districts.
That is insane. Here in Canada I have never waited more than two minutes in line to vote.
The defence department should be involved as this disenfranchises all armed forces serving overseas or outside their districts.
And trump has dejoy slowing down the mail for just this reason.
Just three months ago, I sent a package to a city about 30 miles from me. It took 22 days, via Los Angles. I live in Texas.
Why is Dejoy not gone yet. I know it’s during a certain time they can. I hope it comes soon

Those of us following the work of Democracy Docket need to start pressuring networks to devote at least 1 hr a day to stories about election and corruption. If they want to do minute by minute coverage of court cases make it about cases that can change the outcome of the election.

USPS is still controlled by DeJoy, which is why I use a drop box.
I swing by an early voting site to drop my ballot off. I don't trust USPS with something so important to me.
Same here. For this primary, I was about to head to to the drop box when the postal carrier arrived at my house, so I handed it over. Drop box to elections center is next day. PO to elections center: 3. I get an email when it was counted.

We can't forget about Postmaster General Dejoy messing post office up and still having problems with mail being very slow. He's a Trump, guy so keeping an eye on what's going on at the Post Office is important, since he could slow walk a lot of mail in ballots.
Find a different way to vote. Voting by mail will not work. USPS will make sure of that!

I hear DeJoy is planning on closing a mail facility in Reno and moving it to California. That will significantly slow down the mail even more
If it significantly snows, nothing by truck or rail moves between the two states in that area.
Given how much Trump appointee Dejoy has slowed the mails it is even more critical that these lawsuits fail.

In Australia we have the AEC ( Australian Electoral Commission ). They control all elections and all maps. The maps are adjusted by population when needed. Gerrymandering doesn’t.

One of Trump’s big complaints in 2020 was that they kept counting votes. Trump wasn’t originally a Republican, and many of his views have never aligned with traditional Republican policies.
