I don't know why I'm always surprised when someone doesn't realize that Liza is Judy's daughter. Just shows how old I am :) They are so sweet singing together.

If you want to see Liza in her prime, you should watch her scene in the movie Cabaret where she does the movie's title song. Show Biz is in Liza's blood and she absolutely killed it in that movie.

On Liza’s last “together” you can see Judy be so impressed that her daughter hit that beautiful note. Liza’s said she wasn’t a natural singer, that it was training, but I think she was very much selling herself short. Yeah, she probably benefited from being taught voice control and proper breathing, but being only 16 here you can’t convince me she wasn’t born with an awesome voice. What served her well is that her voice and looks were completely different from her mother’s, so she didn’t have to suffer being dubbed Judy’s Mini-Me. If one didn’t know she was Judy’s daughter, they would’ve never guessed it. She was truly her own incredible performer.

I grew up here in Australia listening to my mum’s Judy’s 78 records as a child, then I bought her daughter Liza’s Vinyl. We loved both Mother and Daughter. We watched all Judy’s and then later her daughter’s musicals . Has he worked out they are mother and daughter ? And that Liza married Australian Peter Allen for a few years. Peter Allen loved Judy and wrote that beautiful song about her. *Quiet please, there's a lady on stage*

You can definitely blame the movie studios of the 30's and 40's for contributing to Judy Garlands dying of an Overdose. Back then they were so desperate to use Judy and Mickey Rooney so they could stay afloat they kept them Hopped Up On Speed. They used to keep them working for days on end. Every few hours they give them Downers so they could sleep for a couple of hours, before giving them yet some more Speed. No wonder those two had Substance Abuse Problems. Judy dying did convince Mickey to get some Help though.
