To answer your question--my story may not be as great as our sports icons but growing up in the Philippines knowing about them made me a proud Filipino. When I migrated to the US, I went through many discriminations, but I never doubted my ability to rise above without selling out and sacrificing who I am and my beliefs. So, here's to the many Filipinos all over the world who never back down to all forms of challenges, oppressions even, knowing that we all stand on the shoulders of those who came before us in all fields who came out winning. Thank you, Chuck for your great efforts to put this series together--this is innovative education!

@@Sir_Sway In the 80's here in Hawaii even Filipinos born here have nothing to do with immigrants like us and they make sure we are aware of that. The local Filipinos here would rather say they have all the other ethnicity's extraction than being identified as Filipinos. That' s just to give you a clue back then. It took a Manny Pacquai, Arnel Pineda and the likes for them to finally say they are Filipino.

E-Sports is also now being dominated by Filipinos but somehow it is still being considered like no big deal. For three years now, Philippines is hailed the champions in MSeries (ML World Cup) in two of those years, the championship was between the 2 teams who represent Philippines. I hope these kids get the recognition they deserve since they also bagged gold in SEA Games for the Philippines, too despite the taunts and insults from the opposing team.
By the way, in ML, support roles are rarely considered a threat, but because of OhMyV33nus, Estes is an auto-banned hero whenever he is playing 🙂

Filipinos aslo made a history in DOTA 2. But NEVER in philippine esports history that the filipinos made in world championship in Counter Strike World Championship which i hope there's a full filipino team in counter strike global offensive/2.
They haven't beat the FPS E-Sports consistently yet. I hope we can strive in that category in the near future.

Naisip ko lang, nowadays di na seryoso students and Filipino in singing it, memorizing by heart and putting palm on chest. Kinakahiya na....but when as Filipino put in international scenes, malalaman mong proud ka sa race mo. With all the hardships and struggles before winning, bittersweet victory talaga.
