As an retired engineer who did a month of operational training at bran oil plant, I suggest you drop the idea of buying a cumbersome oil press for the village, where no one had worked in a oil press. Machine with moving parts are likely to fail. Besides, the press and frame filter needs constant maintenance. My suggestion is to buy a primitive press with two grindstones. It is very easy to operate and can be washed easily. Buy sieve filter to handle the solids.
Very impressed by the intense focus and determination in sourcing an oil extractor to help Felista’s family to start up a business of their own , despite many challenges. Their resilience to ensure Felista family achieve economic independence is commendable.
It's going to be a business. The family should have a talk about it. The mentality of the village community "free for my uncles, my aunts, my cousins, my neighbors and their friends.....finally free for the entire village" at the end NO money maintenance or equipment repairs, No money to pay for the power, back to poverty. SOMEONE SHOULD HELP THEM UNDERSTAND HOW TO MANAGE A BUSINESS AND GET THE RIGHT PEOPLE OF THE FAMILY TO TAKE CARE OF IT.

There is plenty of Electricity in Tanzania. Infact they electric trains . The roads are the only thing TZ shd very keen in making to be passable. U see in Felister's home place they watch TV. Even without electricity this machine can be operated using generators. Which is a bit high in cost. 😊

Hi guys! Good morning. Lào li and Zeng are very dedicated to carry out their promise to help Felista family with the oil press machine but I think it's going to pose some problem in the future to come. Seeing that they have to do repairing some time to come. If they dont get the genuine parts to keep the consistency going, they are going to spend more than they earn. My idea is that they they use the same cash to set up a mini supermarket
and find a good andservicesto supply them with goods. They too could teach them how to operate a business, which they are noted for great business strategy. EXCELLENT brothers. Did you notice that there was some language barier at the store.

Lao Li n Xiao Ceng are sincere in helping but I think better talk to the local area electrician in case there's a problem in electric supply later. Maybe there are other alternatives to help the family set up a small business. How about asking the father and mother first? They will understand the local situation better.

I just worry that when Felista and Lao Li leave Tanzania there will not be anyone capable of working the oil press correctly and if things go wrong unable to summon the help they need. If so much money is being spent at least someone in the family should be given training.
It's a good scenario because it has happened many times in other Africans families. That project is 50/50 successful or failing without training.
Honestly I love their kind gesture of helping but I think asmall retail shop would be better for them,it's a bit manageable though it has its own stress too

She is tired!! She has worked hard to just go home and visit and the press is such a difficult understanding though a worthy one!! Would they not be better off to go home purchase in China where they have full grasp of the language and understanding and have it shipped.... with all the parts that is needed and have it installed?? Being so difficult I wonder if in the future if something breaks down if her family will be able to follow thru on a repair 😮😮many things to think about!!

They are taking on a fairly big task, so lots of patience will be needed. The machine requires 3-phase supply, so a competent electrician is needed to pull the 3-Phase to the location, and then install proper safety electrical equipment. Finally, with so many small kids running around unsupervised, safety grills/guards/nettings need to be installed.
Your analysis of the oil press situation is very good. I commend Lao Li and Xiao Zeng for their good intentions to make Felista's family financially stable by having the oil press. However, it requires technical knowledge to put it together, maintenance and other environmental factors to make a go of it. Felista looks so stressed and I do miss her laughter when she was in scenic China rural.

You really need to take time, research, understand all what come into account with the installation of such a heavy equipment in a remote village, what is the return of such an investment? Every business takes training but before you venture into a business you have to research it thoroughly, example location , population, resources , strategy's and training. I am not saying it is not feasible, but family are the ones to know if this is manageable. Who is going to spear headed the operation. Also the extra precautions at risk. Let's here it from them. Felista is worried and for good reason...I can almost absorb their worry through the screen, but in the end everything will work out...My concern is that the components seem tobe complex i had hoped they would buy a ready to use machine.
