Hi Scott have an older late 90s viking 6 burner 48" stove. When you turn on any of the right stoves they light but the back ones click nonstop unless you light both a front and back one. Will try cleaning but what would cause the back ones to click when lighting the front?
Thanks for the great content as always and this is one the most useful DIY ones out her. If anyone thinks he don't need this, its only because the problem is so pervasive and common that we all have learned to live with it, instead of repairing it. I'm on my way for a better stove and to make others love and appreciate me more. Thanks a billion for all the amazing job you perform and share with all. Scott... do you have a guide for the control module on a VDSC530T ? Im sure I can figure it out just looking for possible road blocks and short cuts... Thanks
Thanks for the video. Currently I have the spark module disconnect on my Viking as it would not stop clicking on certain burners. Is it difficult to change out? Would you happen to have a video of one being replaced you’d be willing to share? Thanks again.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Got it working but now they all click even when burner is on. Actually started clicking all on it's own after we used the oven . Watched your video on this but we have a Viking from 2000, so the older style burners. Any tips?
Hi Chris, One of the burners may be wet causing a short circuit in the ignition system that will make it continue to click. If you know which burner is wet you can point a hairdryer at it for about 10 minutes. You might also check to make sure that all of the burner caps are sitting nice and flat.
Hi Scott,I have a 6 burner viking stove when I turn on the right burner every time the middle or left burners click too but do you think it's a spark module???
Great video. I have the exact 6-burner Viking stove. Someone did a real cleaning job and wiped out my information tag data. Can you tell me the model number of your unit and the approximate age? Thank you!
When I started my Viking stove last night it smell like a gas. Shut it off immediately. Previously I had smelled a similar odor when I kicked on the stove burner. Not technician in our area to do my Viking repair. Any suggestions? Thank you

I have Viking rangetop which works fine but when off I get a slight gas odor from one burner. If I turn knob harder it closes valve and no odor. Can I adjust it?
Thank you! Just fixed mine! One question: the ticking sound you hear when you turn on the burner. Mine seems to tick at 1/2 time so not tick-tick-tick-tick but tick [pause] tick [pause] tick [pause]. Is this indicative of anything? Still illuminates the burner...
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Thank you! Great video. Saved me HUNDREDS in service fees and parts (pretty sure I would have paid for genuine VIking part which was almost $300 vs the $65 I paid).
Hi Scott. Great video. I have a viking 6 burner. I got 3 burner that keeps clicking when one burner is being used. So my left front burner is being used and my top left burner would be making a clicking sound. I noticed that the top/rear ignitor keeps sparking even though, I only turn on the front burner. Any suggestion? also my downdraft hood keeps on going up and donw on its own, it does this every 10 minutes. I unplug the control and it still does it. so for now, i just unplug the power. I think its the control panel, what do you think? the range is independence of the burner, right?
Can you super clean the front igniter and burner head with a wire brush and alcohol. The back burner clicking is due to that front burner circuit being dirty, so cleaning it should do the trick👍
So I have a good one. I have a Viking with 6 burners and a grill. The grill lights but the burden next to it clicks the whole time. Any ideas folks? Thank you so much
Thank you!
You're welcome!😊👍
Wow! That was great explanation and demonstration. Thanks a bunch for making the vid! I subscribed!
Thanks so much 😊

I think the built up dirt is causing the problem.
I would clean all the burners😊
Thanks, Scott. You nailed it for me with the cleaning brush.

Thanku for the video, can I use rubbing alcohol instead for cleaning the burner?
Sure,
That should work 👍
Do you have a video to remove the plate on the surface of the Viking range/oven?

Very helpful. Thank you for putting this together.

Happy to help.

My 90's stove has these delicate wires at the ignitor. I'd be concerned with using a wire brush of any pressure. What else can I do to clean those?
A Q-Tip with alcohol will work👍

Hi Steve, I think it needs a new valve👍

May need a new spark module soon👍
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel but it's the brand new module delivering the slow tick....
I would just leave it alone since it’s new👍
