Peter ohne Nachname Don’t get me wrong, I love the G-2 as well. There really isn’t a 109 I don’t like. It’s probably because the G-6 got a bad rap for such a long time that it didn’t deserve, and probably because of the 13 mm’s @ 4.7. Very favorable match marking as well. You get a lot of down tiers in it.

My Favorite is the BF-109 G-14. Although the G-6 was flown by luftwaffe's top ace Erich Hartman who scored 354 kills 347 soviet kills and 7 american kills.
Great fight! That last la-7 kill was extraordinary. I'm curious, at 9:33 you yawed to the right, did you use keyboard or mouse to do that? It seemed very smooth. i really like G6. As strong climb as g10 and g14 but at 4.7.
Thanks man! I did not use the yaw key on the keyboard for that (I pretty much only use the yaw key to do hammerheads at low speed). It's like a slightly worse G14 yeah.

A bit late but I have a question. What would you have done in the situation where you got your first kill and used the 109 trick if that trick didn't exist? I have issues pulling that off so I was wondering what the proper next move would be if I didn't want to use the trick and was in the same situation.
Yeah man - another 109 vid. My addiction is served! i always found the russians to be quite scary - but mostly because i dont get to play against them that much> Cues used to be very quiet on the eastern front. I also find them to be quite scary in climb ability when engaged in low alt and medium speed fights. I try and avoid them on lower altitudes until i get about 500 meter alt advantage and more or less equal speed. That way when you dive and miss (i always ..miss) you got plenty of energy left to reset the attack. They tend to try and horizontal turn when you go up and down again for a bnz - they then lose enough energy for a seal clubbin' session. Essentially, if you are cautious you can just make them drain their energy state to a point where you feel comfortable enough to make the kill. Something i have to do - ever since i stopped using gunpods, my aim has broken XD Anyways dude - great vid as allways. You still going to do those comparison stats that you did with the different aircraft? Promised you would ;)
@@AdamTheEnginerd Hear you on that. The russian aircraft, i find, are more challenging to face than the brits - so i enjoy the failures :D The K4 has been pushed up to 5.7 which brings it in a new bracket. What's your view / feel on that? Facing a lot end tier P51s.

Thx for another video about bf’s MEC. Lately i am using WT map application on chrome for watching more informations but i dont have dual monitor so i hardly use that. I am sure that u told about the additional indicator on your videos left side. What program is that? I found somethings simillar(like void mei), but they wouldnt work well.
Void Mei works well, I have used it in the past. What I do is I record the local host at the same time as the gameplay, and combine them during editing.
It's called the "local host". How to access the "local host": You need to be running War Thunder or it won't work! Option 1: on the same computer that is running WT: -Type localhost:8111/ in the address bar and press enter and voila. Option 2 (which also works on the computer that runs WT): -Type Your_IP_Address:8111/ where you replace "Your_IP_Address" by your IP Address (192.168.X.XXX) in the address bar and press enter and voila, you can look at the characteristics on another device while flying.
Adam514 thx for a solution! It looks same as the setting IP in a warthunder assistant. Anyway that application dosent work anymore. I will try that way. :)

Mid tier matches in Soviet teams are pure sufferings and pain. I've got 50% discount for Stalinbolt, so took it in the air. 10 matches / 10 loses... Half od them against Japanese, rest against Germans and Pasta. Brutal and clean loses, even tougher than allied games.

@@AdamTheEnginerd tbh sometimes i get shitty compositions even as axis. Like today in my C.202 EC. The other problem are captured premiums which can be confusing to face (to me at least).
fly the p47 d28 and side climb , then bnz the axis to death , once i got a 9 kill game , all the axis went after our useless bombers and attackers/Ground ponders that were at low alt , my team was destroyed then i come in from 6km diving at the speed of 900kph almost braking the plane lol , what saved me is the decent energy retention of the d28 which allowed me to regain some alt back to bnz , they were all dead by the beams of 8 .50 cals in the matter of 4 minutes .

Aussi c'est marrant qu tu dises ça car, il y a 3 ans, les joueurs allemands n'affrontaient que les russes à ce BR (je ne me tapais les Alliés qu'une fois tous les 4 ou 5 matchs) ^^ 3:00 BnZ tranquillement. C'est plus ou moins ce que j'ai fais contre les Japonnais dans mon Yak-9P hier avec 3 alliés inconnus. On s'est fait toute l'équipe ennemie parce que, pour une fois, aucun japonais n'a daigné rester en altitude. Du coup on était 4 contre 2 dans le pire des cas. Ça change de d'habitude où c'est plutôt 5 japonais contre 2 pauvres russes à 5000m ^^ Sinon j'ai cherché le J2M3 sur ta MER Sheet mais j'ai seulement trouvé le J2M5. Est-ce qu'ils ont à peu près la même MER horizontale ?
Parfois les Alliés étaient corrects, ça varie. En ce moment je dis juste qu'ils sont à leur pire en 1 an peut-être. Ah les japonais ont perdu aux russes? Ouais les avions du même type vont avoir un MER très similaire.
@@AdamTheEnginerd Ouais évidement de temps en temps tu tombes sur une bonne équipe en Alliés mais pour moi (que ce soit dernièrement ou il y a quelques années) je dirais que les équipes Alliés n'ont jamais été comparables à celle des Allemands ... Sauf en ce moment en fait, ou plutôt depuis un an ou deux, les équipes allemandes ne sont plus ce qu'elles étaient mais restent meilleures. Les Alliés devraient/auraient dû en profiter mais au lieu de ça ils continuent de grind et de spammer leurs avions d'attaque au sol comme d'habitude :P Ouais chose rare, on a botter le cul au japonais et ça fait du bien. Après c'était surtout parce que c'était des joueurs inexpérimentés, ils nous laissait l'avantage d'altitude très souvent (pourtant la plupart était dans des A7Ms et un avait un J2M, pas de Ki-84 heureusement). Ouais je demandais juste parce que le J2M5 est un peu plus lourd que le M3 du coup j'étais pas sûr ^^
Not sure where people get the idea from that the 109's are bad turner's...sure, they can't pull hard angles initially because of instructor interference in AB and RB, but in a sustained turn they turn on par with the Soviet La series fighters and outturn the I-185's in the speed range between 300-500 kph IAS. Ideal corner speed is 350-400 kph IAS. You WILL have to work the throttle HARD in any nose down/nose up situation to keep the speed in that region and avoid overshots or the target suddenly running away. The excellent acceleration/deceleration and rapid response to throttle changes is one of the greatest strength's of the 109's in a dogfight. The only 109 that doesn't decelerate well is the K-4 because of it's cleaned up drag profile... you really need to constantly adjust the throttle(and prop pitch, like Adam does, if you are familiar enough with it) on that one and throw in high/low yoyo's if that isn't enough. On the plus side, she's also the only 109 to really retain speed well in the straightline, and quite bloody fast too. Disclaimer: That's always assuming equal starting speed, altitude, and of course equally skilled pilots.
Well I get the idea from the tests I've done (MER spreadsheet in the description), and I compare it to what it faces. There aren't many planes that the G6 outturns.
@@AdamTheEnginerdThe term "to outturn" entails so many complicated factors that it's basically meaningless without further clarification about the specifics of how exactly the "outturning" happened. If we are talking a simple horizontal turn, it might be true that the 109's tend to come up short, especially in AB and RB, but combat turns are seldomly completely horizontal. And according to the MER list, most fighters that outturn the G-6 pay for reduced turn time and a tighter turning circle with higher speed/energy loss(with the two noticeable relative outliers being the Ta 152H and the A7M2). Now combine the acceleration/deceleration/throttle response advantage(which is reduced because of suboptimal AEC prop pitch behaviour, but still remains an advantage) with high/low yoyo's and the trademark 109 preference for climbing turns, and "which fighter outturns which" suddenly looks quite a bit different. Anyway, I don't think I need to tell *you* this. It's more intended for the general playerbase, who usually does not understand the intricacies of how to turn properly with their respective plane of choice. ;)
I compare the turn time and turn radius to what it faces when I talk about the turn capabilities of the aircraft. Bf109s also have bad flaps which doesn't help their case. Sure if the G6 starts with the energy advantage, it can high-yoyo or spiral climb and win, but when I say "Poor turn", it's strictly turn performance, not what you can do instead to win an engagement.
@@AdamTheEnginerd That depends firstly on the definition of outturning... are we talking about turning tighter than the pursuer and thus getting out of his guns, or are we talking about a subsequent turnfight that would need a full reversal to count as outturning(something which almost never happens outside of biplanes and early war monoplanes)? Secondly, it again depends on a number of variables... what is the pursuer flying? What is the airspeed of the G-6 and the pursuer, how large is the difference? Is the pursuer close behind, or coming in from a distance? Let's assume the pursuer is a P-47D Example 1: The G-6 is flying at 500 kph IAS, the P-47D at 750 kph IAS and coming in from a distance of ca. 1.5km from the high 6 o clock position. In this situation the G-6 can likely "outturn" the P-47D by starting a gentle downward turn into the P-47D and gradually tightening the turn to increase the "angle off". The P-47 will either commit fully and overshoot, or abort and set up another attack. In both cases the G-6 ends up with more energy relative to the P-47 than before. Example 2: The G-6 is flying at 300 kph IAS, the P-47D at 350 kph IAS and is already within gun range, only 600 meters directly behind. If the G-6 starts to turn now, regardless of the direction and vertical component, it has no chance to make it out of the guns of the P-47D before it will be turned to scrap, unless the P-47D pilot is a horrible shot. It can NOT outturn the P-47D here. In this situation the best bet for the G-6 is going evasive and letting the P-47D come close before starting a scissor while ideally not falling below 300 kph IAS... and praying. Then again, if you let someone with an energy advantage get on your 6 and this close without having started to turn earlier, you already made a mistake. PS: We can substitute the P-47D for a P-51D, and it would work out much the same... attacking at 700+ kph IAS in a dive is simply not a good idea with any piston engined fighter. ^^ PS2: The 109's also suffer from instructor limitations to their elevator to a higher degree than most, just like the Fw 190's and Ta 152's do. Another fighter that I know for certain is suffering from the same issue is the Sea Fury. The MER table for SB would look quite different to the table for RB.
Hey! I have got a question about controls. How to increase propeller pitch? I binded 2 keys for max value and min value but they doesn't work and the propeller pitch stays at 50%. Can you somehow explain how to do that?
Wow Adam, you seem to make a lot of intense and excellent air rb videos! I'm currently grinding for the 109 K-4, but I'm still all the way back at the 109 F-4. I don't have a prem account and I barely play Air rb. Any tips on how to play the 109 F4? ^^
I try! Stick around and you'll learn a lot! F4 is fairly straightforward. You outclimb most enemies, and you outturn the US fighters. Just don't turn with UK and the rest should flow nicely.
Hmmm, I will try this tactic, but what if I face more dangerous opponents like the P-51D mustang? I usually fell in for a lot of baiting maneuvers, but I'm currently trying to not take the bait as Russian fighters tend to be fighting at low altitudes, outmaneuvering me Thanks for the tip tho! Hey Adam, I love your videos. I would like to suggest a challenge. Fly the best plane with the worst guns, The ki61-1 tei. The hei and the MG variants are very good imo and they get played out enough but I would like to see what you could do in the tei, maybe then more people would be willing to try it and we would see less zero spam. @@AdamTheEnginerd I am talking about the 4.3 version with the Japanese 20mm's. And yeah I get where you are coming from when you say the ki61's are garbage, they are compared to zeroes in some respects but I like that they are slightly faster and able to keep up with some things they face unlike the zero. They also have some great characteristics for defensive flying like a great rudder and a near absence of elevator lockup at high speeds. They also can be used as energy fighters because of their great Energy retention. If you can get the energy advantage all of the ki61s perform well and if you don't have the advantage then their nimble flight characteristics and MER can help you get a reversal. If you don't want the challenge of Japanese 20mm you can always use the hei variant. It has a pair of MG151s which I am sure you are aware are sufficient.
Poor La7, he got hit, landed and repaired, flew back up to just get shot on his 1st pass on you. He was above you in a better plane at that altitude too. I can almost feel his disappointment lol. anyway, if you're looking something a little different, I've been flying the whirlwind a lot lately and the videos on it are old and few and far between. It's a fun plane for heavy fighter, usually end up above everyone (usually 109s) due to airspawn and can turn fight with the hitlerbolt. Be a fun challenge for you to see how many planes you can shoot down before having to land and reload. My PR so far is 3.
The G-6 seems mediocre even compared to the G-14, looking at its performance it just seems to be a heavier G-2 at a higher BR. Is there any other difference between it and the G-2 like engine settings or something?
Adam, I have got an important question. What if a more maneuverable aircraft dives on you, what do you do? An LF Mk 9 just dives on my bf 109 g10 and just smashes me hard.
Number 1 is to not allow a more maneuverable aircraft to be able to dive on you and catch you. When it does happen, do evasive maneuvers while heading diving and heading towards teammates.
The biggest problem I have with this plane is that the Allies at this tier seem to spam a lot of Lightnings and F-82s, almost completely nullifying any speed or climb advantage I get from BnZ..
That’s nots lag, it’s a ping increase. And some people have ping increases to 999 so their plane freaks out and teleports into the ground and kills them.

What would you have done at 7:50 if the Yak-3 behind you decided to chase you rather than the 190? He looked like he had plenty of energy and I have hell escaping from anything in the G6...
@@AdamTheEnginerd When you attempt to perform evasive manoeuvres to force an overshoot and your enemy cuts throttle to avoid overshooting. Is there anything I can do?
You need to preemptively put yourself in a position to escape if the enemy cuts throttle. If the La7 here cut throttle it would only have made it easier to shoot him in this example.
The G-6 is the second G series i loved. The G2 was the first. I just for some reason cannot make the G-10, G-14 and that work. Probably because its stock and i have constant uptiers to 6.3...
@@AdamTheEnginerd I dont actually think that G-10 is better. Its engine inferior to G-14 and G-6 at alt in between 1 to 5(!)k meters, -30 hp at 1.5 km to -120(!) hp at 3-4k meters. Its current patch data, at 270 kph speed and top planes, in-game info.
Yeah I made a detailed comparison video for the tier 4 Bf109s. G6 and G14 are very slightly better at climbing below 5km, but they drop off rapidly above that.

I'd recommend UK. The instinct to always turn is not a death sentence in UK aircraft. Best tips I can give you is patience and don't be greedy. Observe what the enemy and your teammates are doing, and act appropriately to maximize the chances of your team winning.
I spaded up to German tier 4 years back and basically never fly them, except for the Hitlerbolt (SLs and jugs are my favs so having "competent" teams..) since it is not fun for me, no challenge for one thing.. But, how much performance is lost with gun pods? Just curious. Seems like good players don´t use them and the.. Noobs or clueless ones do.. Or am i wrong?

Yep, about the same. Mid 50’s -Mid 30’s. Although I am playing on a 2016 MacBook Pro so it’s not really a hardcore gaming platform but I would very rarely get lag before as I’m on a fast broadband connection. Fortnite no. I’ve been playing L4D2 a bit recently. First time in years. My other favourite game was 7DTD although I’m bored with A17. No I spent my free time bingeing on the entire Farscape series now it’s up on Prime. Flew through it like I did Breaking Bad. Then Black Summer which I did in a day. Excellent series that. Gone for full realism.
I’ve got hundreds of records of 90-2000’s hip hop, techno, breakcore as that’s what I loved during those times. I was a dubstep fan from 2004-2009. Used to dj that out in it’s early techno crossover days around 2008 along with dub reggae. I even had an opportunity to play at a closing party at a Science festival in Toronto in 2008. Unfortunately I had to cancel it due to reasons so I played at a friends squat party in Maastricht instead. Did that for 3 years. City wide art festival it were. I was playing more dub reggae then. Then an album dropped in 2011 which changed everything. Prince Fatty meets The Mutant Hi-Fi in ‘Return of Gringo’. It was the guitar style which planted the seed. As of last year I now dj instrumental surf music, rockabilly, garage punk, punk blues, underground country, cumbia (its got surf guitar) and all sorts in between. I’m actually the only surf dj in Bristol. I got 2 residences. I’m in my mid 40’s and am enjoying playing out more than ever. I play vinyl and lossless files. No MP3’s as I’m a bit of a snob like that.

You should fly the bf 109 f-2. People don’t like it Bc it’s pretty much the same as the f-4 but I think it has better Turing the cannons are little but that’s how you turn better you should fly it or make a video some time very Mobile plane. Personally
This is really helpfull for me since I'm grinding my german planes, I'm trying to get the Me 262 A1a and A1a/U4 and I'm having a bad time.. not with the G6 but yes with the K4 even tho is not spaded yet, but anyway good video and thank you, at least now I know better the 109 trick xd
When I'm fighting Japanese with my Yak 9U I always try to stay fast between 680 and 710kmh at around 6k, then going low to yo yo a Japanese and go bleeding its energy until it can't even turn, so its evasion is equal to zero. But with Germany it's a whole different thing. I have to take care, because the way I fight 109s is completely different to how I fight 190s, so I completely avoid places where both types of aircraft are. For Fw I have to turn fight, but for 109 I have to speed fight. All I do with them is forcing them to dive on me, make a slight turn to avoid them, roll and start chasing them from below as they're climbing. If they want to Bnz me they will need to do a 180 vertical change of direction or a wide turn because my position is right below them This will make them lose a lot of energy, and the way is repeating it until they're slow. They will BnZ slower and I would roll better, until it's just straight up a reversal in the Focke-Wulf way, or trap them in a low speed turn fight or overshoot them in a rolling scissor, which is where Yak 9U is king. It's very hard to do, but when I do it it works. All I need is patience and nerves of steel.
@@AdamTheEnginerd Unfortunate but needed, you can land undamaged and J out and be able to spawn back in with full ammo and fuel... combine that with the 163's old air spawn and you could not die.
Takes ages to land with the wheels, so it doesn't make much of a difference. I think you land and repair faster by landing without wheels, than by landing with wheels and Jout when you come to a stop.
@@AdamTheEnginerd While that is quite true, my original point was that of the air spawn for the 163 and how it was necessary to take it away. With an Ace crew you would have a 7-9 second repair time, that is about the time it takes for someone to turn around after doing a pass on the airfield. You then instantly get spawned in the air, even without the Jing glitch it is still quite unfair.

Peter ohne Nachname Don’t get me wrong, I love the G-2 as well. There really isn’t a 109 I don’t like. It’s probably because the G-6 got a bad rap for such a long time that it didn’t deserve, and probably because of the 13 mm’s @ 4.7. Very favorable match marking as well. You get a lot of down tiers in it.

My Favorite is the BF-109 G-14. Although the G-6 was flown by luftwaffe's top ace Erich Hartman who scored 354 kills 347 soviet kills and 7 american kills.

Performance hit is pretty small. I recommend using them if your aim isn't on point.

A bit late but I have a question. What would you have done in the situation where you got your first kill and used the 109 trick if that trick didn't exist? I have issues pulling that off so I was wondering what the proper next move would be if I didn't want to use the trick and was in the same situation.
You likely don't have a high enough energy advantage to pull it off. In that case, you can only extend away.
Yeah man - another 109 vid. My addiction is served! i always found the russians to be quite scary - but mostly because i dont get to play against them that much> Cues used to be very quiet on the eastern front. I also find them to be quite scary in climb ability when engaged in low alt and medium speed fights. I try and avoid them on lower altitudes until i get about 500 meter alt advantage and more or less equal speed. That way when you dive and miss (i always ..miss) you got plenty of energy left to reset the attack. They tend to try and horizontal turn when you go up and down again for a bnz - they then lose enough energy for a seal clubbin' session. Essentially, if you are cautious you can just make them drain their energy state to a point where you feel comfortable enough to make the kill. Something i have to do - ever since i stopped using gunpods, my aim has broken XD

The K4 has been pushed up to 5.7 which brings it in a new bracket. What's your view / feel on that? Facing a lot end tier P51s.
K4 does face more 6.3 aircraft now, but Axis teams still handle that more than fine.

Void Mei works well, I have used it in the past. What I do is I record the local host at the same time as the gameplay, and combine them during editing.

-Type localhost:8111/ in the address bar and press enter and voila.
Option 2 (which also works on the computer that runs WT):
-Type Your_IP_Address:8111/ where you replace "Your_IP_Address" by your IP Address (192.168.X.XXX) in the address bar and press enter and voila, you can look at the characteristics on another device while flying.

You could, but only when you're forced at that speed. You're better off climbing at 280-290km/h.

Mid tier matches in Soviet teams are pure sufferings and pain. I've got 50% discount for Stalinbolt, so took it in the air.
10 matches / 10 loses... Half od them against Japanese, rest against Germans and Pasta. Brutal and clean loses, even tougher than allied games.

@@AdamTheEnginerd tbh sometimes i get shitty compositions even as axis. Like today in my C.202 EC. The other problem are captured premiums which can be confusing to face (to me at least).
fly the p47 d28 and side climb , then bnz the axis to death , once i got a 9 kill game , all the axis went after our useless bombers and attackers/Ground ponders that were at low alt , my team was destroyed then i come in from 6km diving at the speed of 900kph almost braking the plane lol , what saved me is the decent energy retention of the d28 which allowed me to regain some alt back to bnz , they were all dead by the beams of 8 .50 cals in the matter of 4 minutes .
also use mec , 5% rads and 80% prop pitch , 90% to 85% mixture depending on alt , you can wep until it runs out without overheating .

Ça change de d'habitude où c'est plutôt 5 japonais contre 2 pauvres russes à 5000m ^^

Sauf en ce moment en fait, ou plutôt depuis un an ou deux, les équipes allemandes ne sont plus ce qu'elles étaient mais restent meilleures.
Les Alliés devraient/auraient dû en profiter mais au lieu de ça ils continuent de grind et de spammer leurs avions d'attaque au sol comme d'habitude :P
Ouais chose rare, on a botter le cul au japonais et ça fait du bien. Après c'était surtout parce que c'était des joueurs inexpérimentés, ils nous laissait l'avantage d'altitude très souvent (pourtant la plupart était dans des A7Ms et un avait un J2M, pas de Ki-84 heureusement).
Ouais je demandais juste parce que le J2M5 est un peu plus lourd que le M3 du coup j'étais pas sûr ^^
Not sure where people get the idea from that the 109's are bad turner's...sure, they can't pull hard angles initially because of instructor interference in AB and RB, but in a sustained turn they turn on par with the Soviet La series fighters and outturn the I-185's in the speed range between 300-500 kph IAS. Ideal corner speed is 350-400 kph IAS.
You WILL have to work the throttle HARD in any nose down/nose up situation to keep the speed in that region and avoid overshots or the target suddenly running away. The excellent acceleration/deceleration and rapid response to throttle changes is one of the greatest strength's of the 109's in a dogfight. The only 109 that doesn't decelerate well is the K-4 because of it's cleaned up drag profile... you really need to constantly adjust the throttle(and prop pitch, like Adam does, if you are familiar enough with it) on that one and throw in high/low yoyo's if that isn't enough. On the plus side, she's also the only 109 to really retain speed well in the straightline, and quite bloody fast too.
Disclaimer: That's always assuming equal starting speed, altitude, and of course equally skilled pilots.
Well I get the idea from the tests I've done (MER spreadsheet in the description), and I compare it to what it faces. There aren't many planes that the G6 outturns.
@@AdamTheEnginerdThe term "to outturn" entails so many complicated factors that it's basically meaningless without further clarification about the specifics of how exactly the "outturning" happened.
If we are talking a simple horizontal turn, it might be true that the 109's tend to come up short, especially in AB and RB, but combat turns are seldomly completely horizontal. And according to the MER list, most fighters that outturn the G-6 pay for reduced turn time and a tighter turning circle with higher speed/energy loss(with the two noticeable relative outliers being the Ta 152H and the A7M2).
Now combine the acceleration/deceleration/throttle response advantage(which is reduced because of suboptimal AEC prop pitch behaviour, but still remains an advantage) with high/low yoyo's and the trademark 109 preference for climbing turns, and "which fighter outturns which" suddenly looks quite a bit different.
Anyway, I don't think I need to tell *you* this. It's more intended for the general playerbase, who usually does not understand the intricacies of how to turn properly with their respective plane of choice. ;)
I compare the turn time and turn radius to what it faces when I talk about the turn capabilities of the aircraft. Bf109s also have bad flaps which doesn't help their case.
Sure if the G6 starts with the energy advantage, it can high-yoyo or spiral climb and win, but when I say "Poor turn", it's strictly turn performance, not what you can do instead to win an engagement.
For example if you have an enemy on your 6 and has the energy advantage, will you be able to outturn it in the G6? My answer is likely not.
@@AdamTheEnginerd That depends firstly on the definition of outturning... are we talking about turning tighter than the pursuer and thus getting out of his guns, or are we talking about a subsequent turnfight that would need a full reversal to count as outturning(something which almost never happens outside of biplanes and early war monoplanes)?
Secondly, it again depends on a number of variables... what is the pursuer flying? What is the airspeed of the G-6 and the pursuer, how large is the difference? Is the pursuer close behind, or coming in from a distance?
Let's assume the pursuer is a P-47D
Example 1:
The G-6 is flying at 500 kph IAS, the P-47D at 750 kph IAS and coming in from a distance of ca. 1.5km from the high 6 o clock position.
In this situation the G-6 can likely "outturn" the P-47D by starting a gentle downward turn into the P-47D and gradually tightening the turn to increase the "angle off". The P-47 will either commit fully and overshoot, or abort and set up another attack. In both cases the G-6 ends up with more energy relative to the P-47 than before.
Example 2:
The G-6 is flying at 300 kph IAS, the P-47D at 350 kph IAS and is already within gun range, only 600 meters directly behind. If the G-6 starts to turn now, regardless of the direction and vertical component, it has no chance to make it out of the guns of the P-47D before it will be turned to scrap, unless the P-47D pilot is a horrible shot. It can NOT outturn the P-47D here. In this situation the best bet for the G-6 is going evasive and letting the P-47D come close before starting a scissor while ideally not falling below 300 kph IAS... and praying.
Then again, if you let someone with an energy advantage get on your 6 and this close without having started to turn earlier, you already made a mistake.
PS: We can substitute the P-47D for a P-51D, and it would work out much the same... attacking at 700+ kph IAS in a dive is simply not a good idea with any piston engined fighter. ^^
PS2: The 109's also suffer from instructor limitations to their elevator to a higher degree than most, just like the Fw 190's and Ta 152's do. Another fighter that I know for certain is suffering from the same issue is the Sea Fury. The MER table for SB would look quite different to the table for RB.
That 5th kill is one for the ages.

F4 is fairly straightforward. You outclimb most enemies, and you outturn the US fighters. Just don't turn with UK and the rest should flow nicely.
Hmmm, I will try this tactic, but what if I face more dangerous opponents like the P-51D mustang? I usually fell in for a lot of baiting maneuvers, but I'm currently trying to not take the bait as Russian fighters tend to be fighting at low altitudes, outmaneuvering me

@@AdamTheEnginerd I am talking about the 4.3 version with the Japanese 20mm's. And yeah I get where you are coming from when you say the ki61's are garbage, they are compared to zeroes in some respects but I like that they are slightly faster and able to keep up with some things they face unlike the zero. They also have some great characteristics for defensive flying like a great rudder and a near absence of elevator lockup at high speeds. They also can be used as energy fighters because of their great Energy retention. If you can get the energy advantage all of the ki61s perform well and if you don't have the advantage then their nimble flight characteristics and MER can help you get a reversal. If you don't want the challenge of Japanese 20mm you can always use the hei variant. It has a pair of MG151s which I am sure you are aware are sufficient.
Poor La7, he got hit, landed and repaired, flew back up to just get shot on his 1st pass on you. He was above you in a better plane at that altitude too. I can almost feel his disappointment lol. anyway, if you're looking something a little different, I've been flying the whirlwind a lot lately and the videos on it are old and few and far between. It's a fun plane for heavy fighter, usually end up above everyone (usually 109s) due to airspawn and can turn fight with the hitlerbolt. Be a fun challenge for you to see how many planes you can shoot down before having to land and reload. My PR so far is 3.

The G-6 seems mediocre even compared to the G-14, looking at its performance it just seems to be a heavier G-2 at a higher BR. Is there any other difference between it and the G-2 like engine settings or something?
It's slightly worse than G14, but the BR is much nicer than the G14 BR.
G6 has more power and more weight than G2.
Adam, I have got an important question. What if a more maneuverable aircraft dives on you, what do you do? An LF Mk 9 just dives on my bf 109 g10 and just smashes me hard.
Number 1 is to not allow a more maneuverable aircraft to be able to dive on you and catch you. When it does happen, do evasive maneuvers while heading diving and heading towards teammates.
The biggest problem I have with this plane is that the Allies at this tier seem to spam a lot of Lightnings and F-82s, almost completely nullifying any speed or climb advantage I get from BnZ..
P38s shouldn't be much trouble unless it's a P38K. F82 with its airspawn will be annoying, but it isn't being spammed.
the g6 out climb all US planes at your tier ( except p38k which is rare ) up to 5km then they become superior , the g2 is way better .
That’s nots lag, it’s a ping increase. And some people have ping increases to 999 so their plane freaks out and teleports into the ground and kills them.
Ping is a part of lag though.

That's normal, Mig15 isn't very competitive especially now. I recommend skipping it.

@@AdamTheEnginerd When you attempt to perform evasive manoeuvres to force an overshoot and your enemy cuts throttle to avoid overshooting. Is there anything I can do?
You need to preemptively put yourself in a position to escape if the enemy cuts throttle. If the La7 here cut throttle it would only have made it easier to shoot him in this example.
The G-6 is the second G series i loved. The G2 was the first. I just for some reason cannot make the G-10, G-14 and that work. Probably because its stock and i have constant uptiers to 6.3...
G14 is a waste of time, G10 is better for the same BR. G6 is essentially a very slightly worse G14.
@@AdamTheEnginerd I dont actually think that G-10 is better. Its engine inferior to G-14 and G-6 at alt in between 1 to 5(!)k meters, -30 hp at 1.5 km to -120(!) hp at 3-4k meters. Its current patch data, at 270 kph speed and top planes, in-game info.
Yeah I made a detailed comparison video for the tier 4 Bf109s. G6 and G14 are very slightly better at climbing below 5km, but they drop off rapidly above that.
@@AdamTheEnginerd I dont really see many dogfights in RB at alt higher than 6500m (Norway...), and usually it rapidly desends to 4k. This is main reason why I dont like G-10 - there are not so much usage for its engine settings for me.

I'd recommend UK. The instinct to always turn is not a death sentence in UK aircraft. Best tips I can give you is patience and don't be greedy. Observe what the enemy and your teammates are doing, and act appropriately to maximize the chances of your team winning.

I spaded up to German tier 4 years back and basically never fly them, except for the Hitlerbolt (SLs and jugs are my favs so having "competent" teams..) since it is not fun for me, no challenge for one thing.. But, how much performance is lost with gun pods? Just curious.
Seems like good players don´t use them and the.. Noobs or clueless ones do.. Or am i wrong?
It's not a big performance hit. I recommend using them if your aim isn't on point.

Yep, about the same. Mid 50’s -Mid 30’s. Although I am playing on a 2016 MacBook Pro so it’s not really a hardcore gaming platform but I would very rarely get lag before as I’m on a fast broadband connection.
Fortnite no. I’ve been playing L4D2 a bit recently. First time in years. My other favourite game was 7DTD although I’m bored with A17. No I spent my free time bingeing on the entire Farscape series now it’s up on Prime. Flew through it like I did Breaking Bad. Then Black Summer which I did in a day. Excellent series that. Gone for full realism.
I also do a bit of djing in my free time so I’ve knuckled down with that too.

I’ve got hundreds of records of 90-2000’s hip hop, techno, breakcore as that’s what I loved during those times. I was a dubstep fan from 2004-2009. Used to dj that out in it’s early techno crossover days around 2008 along with dub reggae. I even had an opportunity to play at a closing party at a Science festival in Toronto in 2008. Unfortunately I had to cancel it due to reasons so I played at a friends squat party in Maastricht instead. Did that for 3 years. City wide art festival it were. I was playing more dub reggae then.
Then an album dropped in 2011 which changed everything. Prince Fatty meets The Mutant Hi-Fi in ‘Return of Gringo’. It was the guitar style which planted the seed. As of last year I now dj instrumental surf music, rockabilly, garage punk, punk blues, underground country, cumbia (its got surf guitar) and all sorts in between. I’m actually the only surf dj in Bristol. I got 2 residences. I’m in my mid 40’s and am enjoying playing out more than ever. I play vinyl and lossless files. No MP3’s as I’m a bit of a snob like that.
Do you prefer the 109’s over the 190’s? Wanting to get away from US planes and start on the German tech tree

When you use manual prop pitch on 109s is it constant speed or do you control the pitch itself?
The pilot sets the prop pitch directly. That's what allows it to alleviate thrust loss at low speed, while other aircraft can't.
@@AdamTheEnginerd Right, that makes sense. The governor wants to raise the pitch to keep RPM constant so you're telling it "no, use a lower pitch and keep a higher RPM"

I do that in my general gameplay videos. I do have a "Tricks" series which might be what you want.
If you are experiencing some unusual lags, check your Server while searching for a match. Sometimes it changes itself automatically.
I stick to US-EU.
You should fly the bf 109 f-2. People don’t like it Bc it’s pretty much the same as the f-4 but I think it has better Turing the cannons are little but that’s how you turn better you should fly it or make a video some time very Mobile plane. Personally

When I'm fighting Japanese with my Yak 9U I always try to stay fast between 680 and 710kmh at around 6k, then going low to yo yo a Japanese and go bleeding its energy until it can't even turn, so its evasion is equal to zero. But with Germany it's a whole different thing. I have to take care, because the way I fight 109s is completely different to how I fight 190s, so I completely avoid places where both types of aircraft are. For Fw I have to turn fight, but for 109 I have to speed fight. All I do with them is forcing them to dive on me, make a slight turn to avoid them, roll and start chasing them from below as they're climbing. If they want to Bnz me they will need to do a 180 vertical change of direction or a wide turn because my position is right below them This will make them lose a lot of energy, and the way is repeating it until they're slow. They will BnZ slower and I would roll better, until it's just straight up a reversal in the Focke-Wulf way, or trap them in a low speed turn fight or overshoot them in a rolling scissor, which is where Yak 9U is king. It's very hard to do, but when I do it it works. All I need is patience and nerves of steel.
Yeah pretty much. But you should use IAS instead of SPD, better tell of what your aircraft can do.

@@AdamTheEnginerd Unfortunate but needed, you can land undamaged and J out and be able to spawn back in with full ammo and fuel... combine that with the 163's old air spawn and you could not die.
Takes ages to land with the wheels, so it doesn't make much of a difference. I think you land and repair faster by landing without wheels, than by landing with wheels and Jout when you come to a stop.
if only it had mk 103s instead of 108s and a bit more fuel it would easily club 9.0 no problem .
@@AdamTheEnginerd While that is quite true, my original point was that of the air spawn for the 163 and how it was necessary to take it away. With an Ace crew you would have a 7-9 second repair time, that is about the time it takes for someone to turn around after doing a pass on the airfield. You then instantly get spawned in the air, even without the Jing glitch it is still quite unfair.
That first kill was straight from the trailer except the bf109 gets the kill
