I am taking an online class on mechanical ventilation. I can't play with one and this was soooo helpful...It puts together all the theory from the books =)
Even though the temperature sensor and the oxygen sensor are in the same cassette in the back panel, I think George is incorrect about the humidifier cord nearest the patient being part of an oxygen sensor. That should just be a temperature sensor and any hospital I've worked at does not require that cord to be put inline if the patient is on an HME. I did not find anything in the Marquet manual stating that cord was for the oxygen sensor.
He does do one thing wrong, but over all very well done. Before the unit requests the user to install the test tubing, the vent performs an atmospheric check to briefly compare atmosphere (are you in Denver or at sea level??) to its internal barometer. At that time the vent should have open and unrestricted access to atmosphere. He has the circuit on and therefore during the atmospheric test, the vent cannot measure true unrestricted atmospheric pressure.
An internal leak test would imply that its probably not the external circuit, but an internal circuit component in the ventilator. It might also be a flow transducer or expiratory cassette etc depending on the brand. Contact your biomedical technical support team in your hospital or the manufacturer for assistance. You can also check the trouble shooting guide in the manual that came with the ventilator if you have them. Anytime some internal problem is identified, unless its something basic and easy to fix, we usually have our biomed techs check them out.
Hello everyone, Is anyone tell me about the error coming during internal leakage test "pressure transducer difference >5 cmH2O"...kindly tell me sir and anyone.. as soon as ..

Internal leakage test :failed. What can i do for this problem pls.

It is the expiratory cassette or the inspiratory pipe assembly. its always one of these for internal leak fails
