Have you noticed that the motors get super hot after flights? Mine have the hot glue that flows from the plastic support of the motors at the end of flight..
I’ve just received mine and maidened it... Frankly, I was astounded: for £47, it is incredible! The glide is surprisingly good, so I can’t wait for a dry day with a light breeze to slope it. I’ve just started rc, and have about three hours of flight time. I think this little baby is gonna crush that. Need more batteries!
Looks like tremendous fun. Having ailerons means the dihedral won't be sufficient to give beginner-level self-stabilising (i.e. if you get into trouble just stop stick twiddling and it'll recover all by itself), but the gyros take things to another level of sophistication. These tiny modern planes can be designed to please an intermediate-level flyer with the stability aids turned off, but still give a novice a chance. And at an incredibly good price. The weight is very attractive considering the new RC regulations coming in all over the world. At 110 grams it's a fantastic way to beat the 250 gram limit; I'm tempted to get one, fly it to death, then shift the control gear into one of my old free-flight gliders. Double the wingspan, double the weight, double the fun... (Just have to be sure to keep it in range!) Great video - thanks very much for the upload. :-)
Thanks for another informative review! I enjoy all your reviews and have purchased several models based on them. Keep up the good work, it's nice to know that one can always count on an honest assessment of anything you test. Thanks again.
I.have ordered one of these after watching your brilliant video, I have previously bought the Volantexex mini trainstar, the xk beaver futuba , and the volantex powered glider after watching your reviews, I even got.a shout out from you - thanks .
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. I had the same problem with lack of full elevator control. Once I adjusted the pitch horn connector, it flew like a dream. Also, I agree that this is more of an intermediate plane. Coming from the drone world, I picked it up pretty fast, after the elevator fix.
Hmm.. I like the look of that and especially that it coped with what was, by the sound of it, quite a breeze. Another one I'll probably add to my (expanding) collection at some point.
Hello, I got my XKA 800 and wanted to know if the gyro works in 3d mode (Blue light flashing) as well. I am asking this because when I switch to the 3d mode where the blue light flashes, and I hold the plane with my hand and move it up, down, left and right, the elevator and the ailerons still move. Is that the way it is supposed to work?
I'd like to fit my Crazepony camera onto this plane. The camera uses a 3.7v battery. Just wondering if I can save weight by tapping off 3.7v from the plane's 2S cell, via the balance plug ? - Would this be bad for the battery ?
I see the xk a800 is being sold as 4ch or 5ch. From your experience with the a800, what is the 5th channel? I haven't found an explanation for the channel difference. Thanks for your help.
Hello quadcopter excellent video, i have a question i have only flown drones, but i want to start with hobby of planes too, the planes are more difficult to fly? As you have to keep moving the elevator so it wont be going down or climbing to high? And the rudder its to turn faster than the ailerons of the wings, because the ailerons of the wings are to turn too right? So it is difficult to fly a plane
It's very similar to flying a drone in forward flight. If you can fly line of sight with a non-GPS drone, then it shouldn't be too difficult to transition to planes. But I recommend starting with something simple and cheap. There have been some very good (and cheap) beginner's planes come out over the past year. Here are a few that I recommend. th-cam.com/video/Cjcr3CfXWaM/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/OR42fBq27Bo/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/Fc4j-kjGG0s/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/Zcowq-KyxD8/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/hONEEpNE22M/w-d-xo.html
QuadcopterI am going to receive an a800 in the mail next week hopefully I'm thinking about doing a loop but I don't think I should try or roll what is your opinion? Do they do knife edges or inverted flight?
Hello good video. I have a question I want to start in the hobby of planes but I want to know how to calculate the distance I have to fly it away for example in drones with GPS it tells you when you are flying far away and lose signal. In this airplanes how can you know the distance you can fly it
Yo what up 101 brotha. I seen this for 35$ .. never flew a plane but that's what's next.. a plane haha. Sounds like a good price.. thx for the demo. You make that shit fun af. Lol
My Fleet grows FAT wallet, bank account NOT SO MUCH, I am not a quad guy I am helicopters/planes and hybrid VTOLS I have got to say I am always drawn to this video the flight is so peaceful,
3G on Xk models is a lot different than 6G. The 6G is great, 3G is not very much stabilization at all. I have one of their helicopters...a breeze to fly in 6G, a handful in 3G.
i'm torn between this and the XK DHC-2 A600. what do you recommend? i'm a beginner and want to get into stunt flying. i like that the A800 is bigger (easier to see) and longer flight time, and cheaper. interested in anyone's thoughts. thanks
I got both and the a600 is better, it has more power and is more agile I like it more because it's more fun, you can glide and fly steady or dive, do loops and barrol rol also the overall quality is better

@@Quadcopter101 The XK A600 is ideal for a new flyer. But only if they have some experience in transferring RC components to an alternate plane. The A600 is made of very thin (and VERY brittle) styrofoam which will be scattered all over the countryside after the first crash! The A800 is made of much more forgiving EPP foam but the front mounted motor & prop are still a worry for Noobs. New flyers should start with a pusher prop unit made of EPP.
I know this answer is a bit late but maybe it will still help you, if not hopefully someone else. Xk uses Fatuba's protocol in all their models that I have personally ever seen. I'm pretty sure it would be S-FHSS but in not 100% because I'm not sure if fatuba use's more then one protocol, its definatly Fatuba's protocol though.

Nice second plane. The third XK using the same lipo is the xk a430. Both the a600 and a430 have a brushless motor.

No. I tried to bind it to my T8SG using the same Flysky protocol as my F959, but no luck.

dose it have a landing gear?
No, it is a sailplane glider. It has a reinforced landing skid on the belly.
