When it comes to your introduction, it is waaaay more important to focus NOT on what you are saying but instead HOW you say it. Be certain that your voice is clear and confidant. Don't talk to fast, or try to add in a bunch of extra words or random facts - it can make you seem nervous or a mic hog. ;-) A big smile and enthusiastic voice is all you need!
Hey Nekiah - this ABSOLUTELY happens in state pageants. In fact Nicole, Allie and Prita all competed at Miss Maryland USA and that is where we perfected our opening number! For the Miss USA and Teen USA system your intro will be short and sweet - Name, Age and either area represented or school. Always make sure to keep a big smile on your face and eye contact with the judges!
