You are absolutely correct-Jesus does not lie. As the Son of God, His words are truth (John 14:6: "I am the way, the truth, and the life"). This truth is essential when interpreting passages like Matthew 22:30, where Jesus clearly states that angels do not marry. Here is the verse again: Matthew 22:30 (NIV): > "At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven." Key Points: 1. Jesus' Words Are Final: Jesus' teaching emphasizes that angels, as spiritual beings, do not engage in marriage. This aligns with their nature as created beings who serve God, not as beings designed for reproduction or marital relationships. 2. Interpretation of Genesis 6: If Jesus says angels cannot marry, it supports the interpretation that the "sons of God" in Genesis 6:1-4 are not angels but rather human beings, likely from the godly line of Seth, who intermarried with ungodly women from the line of Cain. 3. Fallen Angels vs. Holy Angels: While some interpret Genesis 6 to mean that fallen angels might have taken on human forms to interact with women, Jesus' statement in Matthew 22:30 strongly suggests that even fallen angels cannot marry or reproduce. This would be outside their created nature. Conclusion: Jesus' teaching confirms that angels-whether holy or fallen-are not designed to marry. Any interpretation of Genesis 6 must align with this truth, which suggests the "sons of God" are likely humans, not angels. Jesus' words are always the ultimate authority for understanding Scripture.
jennifer, very good comment. I would add that the biblical definition of "sons of God" is found in Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Fallen angels certainly aren't "led by the Spirit of God!"
Yes, they did. The offspring became men of old. The offspring were killed in the flood and the angels that did not keep their first home are chained in darkness till the judgement.
It is not possible for angels to fertilize the egg of a human! If it were so we would expect the devil to populating the earth today. It is God who gives life and not even the devil can do that. If it was possible for angels to impregnate a woman then we must throw out the doctrine of sin. And again if it were possible would God breathe life into such a being. The context clearly refers to the descendants of Seth and Cain.
If you believe in the unbiblical myth that angels married women, then you also believe in the Greek mythology of Zeus and these other mam-made gods & mythological stories. Both beliefs can't exist together so choose one.
Thank you pastor. God bless you
Amen & Amen ❤
Amen!❤

The word for "nephilim" in hebrew means "tyrant" or "bully". Has nothing to do with angel babies...it's not even possible for that to happen.

So when did the angels themselves die??
@TeStOs78 as I don't believe angels were involved, I wouldn't know. The context does not allow for an angelic interpretation
