Melvyn Bragg is an international treasure. I've learnt more about the world and life from him than I did at university.

I adore this man. The South Bank Show was fantastic and the podcast; "In our time" is bloody brilliant! I would recommend that to all. You learn so much from Socrates to Mozart to Culture. It goes on....Thank you Sir.❤

    Well, hello there, Mr. Bragg.
I only know this person from the wonderful, wonderful 'In Our Time' podcast. After listening to almost the entire catalogue, I was curious who Melvyn, the host, was. The guests on the podcast have very impressive degrees and jobs, and now I learn even the host is impressive as well- being the chancellor of the University of Leeds. Wow.

I'd love to see Melvyn Bragg sit down again with Tom Jones, what would be 24 years since the Southbank show special about Tom Jones life and career.

I just wanted to say I don't buy anything this person's podcast sells. As a self-viewed intelectual, I tried to follow a few of the podcasts and I found them bungling, disparate, unable to give the listener the greater picture, it also had guests contradicting each other in a very pleasant, British way, leaving the listener in complete shambles..... And mostly it's probably due to the host, which is this guy. Yeah, I didn't buy it. and yeah, no one in England speaks like that anymore, or very few. It's incredible to me he got to interview people like Jared Diamond or Yuval Noah Harari and managed to come out with NOTHING out of those talks.

I've never even heard of Jared Diamond or Yuval Noah Harari, and I'm guessing they're nothing compared to some of the people who have been covered in these programmes. I've loved the series - is contradiction a British thing? you must let me know what harmonized part of the planet you reside in.
Also, no intellectual should call themselves a "self-viewed intellectual! - it's like when people say they're deep or beautiful, which never needs to be said by those who actually are.
