    You were technically right about the Bulldogs. Yes they came from Canada as far as working, but they were England born of course!

    Really diggin your videos, keep up the good work man!! I found the new retro figures recently, while they are awesome, nothing compares to the originals.

    Some classic and iconic figures in this series. Love that Undertaker figure - I think every kid at my school must of had that one !!! Legion of Doom was awesome too.
    Can't wait for the next installment : )

    Great video again! While there weren't many figures in that series, they are pretty quality. I didn't know until now that the cape thing came off of Steamboat. Thanks for showing that. Glad to see that the back is doing better. Looking forward to future videos!

    Glad that you're feeling better brother. Series 4 is very sentimental to me. reason being My Uncle Tony bought me Bret Hart, The Undertaker, and British Bulldog for Christmas in '92. My Uncle Tony unfortunately passed away in '98 at the age of 27 and w were real close so I always think about him when I look at My Hasbros. I had all these as a kid as well. great video as always.

      Good stuff man....pretty much all of my collection reminds me of my grandparents, who are both gone. They provided most of it!

    Great video and figs. I remember when this series came out, quality big name players like you said. The nasty boys were so well made. Fantastic like ability. If I'm not mistaken a few months prior to LOD coming in WWF split up the powers of pain so they wouldn't have 3 tag teams that looked a like.

    • @TheNew80sRevolution
      @TheNew80sRevolution  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I think your right. Warlord was repacked....even got a hasbro figure. Nasty Boys are two of my favorite figures.

    Hey, great video. The Undertaker's coat does look pretty good on him-I had him wearing it in one of my videos. It was worth getting the second version to get it for me-plus I think the repaint with the darker beard, gloves and boots looked pretty good too. When I open up one of my retro Mattel Undertaker figures I want to see how well I can get the coat to fit him too maybe.

    • @TheNew80sRevolution

      Yeah I am definitely on the lookout for the coat. Thanks for the support man

    Agree dude. I was always upset with molded on hats. It's even more upsetting when it happened with more modern figures (Jakks CS2 Slaughter, Jakks CS Berzerker).
    This series really gives me flashbacks of the Hasbro commercial that ran at that time. "The bite of the buldog." "The undertaker will bury those deaths."
    By the time this series came out I was neck deep in the WWF. I consumed everything that I could. And watching wrestling at that time was hard. Finding shows and listings. Discovering superstars, challenge, Spotlight, prime time, all american, a couple syndicated candian shows. And it mostly repeated the same sqash matches an interviews from show to show. SO I would go to every video store in town and rent anything they had. It didn't take long till I had seen every pat PPV.
    I have vivid memories of these figures and remember where I got many of them. I agree with you on hogan as this was my favorite one. He could do so many moves, head lock, suplex, slam, clothesline, chin lock. The rubber hooked arm was great fun. I don't think any other hasbro had a rubber arm like this hogan.
    My younger cousin and his hasbro figures are one of the things that got me hooked on wrestling. HIs mom, my aunt, was great at figure hunting and would always be on the look out for the latest figures. I remember one day she came to our house to surprise me with the undertaker. It was as if Skinner had trained me himself, cause every time she came to our house I got excited at the possibility of a new addition to my roster.
    ONe of the things that I think make wrestling figures so fun is how important one additional figure could be to my play. Just one more figure meant a nearly infinite combination of new matches and play options.
    Bret hart was another memory. My mom surprised me with him after trick or treating on Halloween. This was completely out of the ordinary as besides some candy, and that one year my mom got me a bottle of Pondorosa Steak Sauce, there were no Halloween presents. The memory lives on and the hitman stands guard in WrestleCave. Another thing I remember from Bret is that he was a figure that caused me pain. His punch was so hard It at many times smashed my fingernail and caused great pain.
    One last thing. If you haven't found the podcast Something To Wrestle With Bruce Prichard. Do yourself a favor and find it. Listening to this is like reliving your child hood all over again. It's new information on those old stories and gives you a serious case of the warm n fuzzies.
    Later Rev

      Loved the old Hasbro commercials. I could never quite get my Mr. Perfect to do the Perfect Plex action as cool as they made it look lol....I hear you on the Bret Hart figure. I love the figure but yeah, the one I have still packs a pretty good punch lol.....

    • @TheNew80sRevolution
      @TheNew80sRevolution  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Man you tell the best stories!! The line you said below REALLY sums up how exciting it was to get just ONE new figure.
      "One of the things that I think make wrestling figures so fun is how
      important one additional figure could be to my play. Just one more
      figure meant a nearly infinite combination of new matches and play
      options".

      Your perfect plex didn't work so good because you didn't have the sound effect that the commercial had. Those sound effects were so pleasing...

    I loved the Bulldogs bud, Dynamite Kid returned to England and is confined to a wheelchair, he's a mess nowadays. I recently saw a video interview of Bret Hart talking about the match they had at Wembley in London, Davey Boy was in a drug fueled state and had to be led through the whole matchup. The Undertaker is a great looking figure, Bret is one of my favourites too, great insight into his signature, I never knew that

    • @TheNew80sRevolution
      @TheNew80sRevolution  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah, I saw some videos of Dynamite and he is in really bad shape....probably not long for the world. I also read about Davey Boy being pretty messed up during that match...pretty sad. I loved the Bulldogs as a kid...one of my favorite tag teams ever

    Still waiting for my local Wal marts to get the new mattel undertaker and warrior retros. I hope this line really takes off! Ironically, this Taker also has a non-removeable hat that hinders its function.

    I loved the Hart Foundation, especially their feud with Demolition. Unfortunately, I also remember Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart.... the New Foundation.... But anyway, lol.

  • @generalgrevious2005
    @generalgrevious2005 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I always did the hart close line with that figure which was like his trade mark. I have seen some great customs of the lod in the Hasbro form. me as well hated those close leg molds looks like he has to take a crap with there legs molded together. the good ol nasty boys welcome to pitty city

    • @TheNew80sRevolution

    Good to have you back, glad you're feeling better. Series 4 was a pretty solid series, definitely some heavy hitters in there. Glad you gave some credit to the Nasty Boys, I feel like they are overlooked sometimes. Sorry to say it, but I really do not like that Steamboat figure, one of the ugliest in the whole line imho. Do you still have my address or do you need me to send it to you again? Can't wait for the pickups video, it has been forever. Especially the tease about TV shows on DVD, I've been buying a whole bunch of those myself lately, so I'm interested in what you got. I'm currently hooked on Miami Vice.

      TV shows and cartoons on dvd is yet another obsession of mine lol. I will get to that review this week. Have not cracked the seal on Miami Vice yet but I will be.....eventually. Got your address...hammer coming soon!

      There nothing better than 80s tv shows on Blu ray, Miami Vice, Knight Rider, Airwolf & Quantum Leap. I love it, hope they keep putting out more classics on bluray. Maybe MacGyver, Magnum PI and The A-Team.

    • @TheNew80sRevolution

      Curious, which is your favorite of all those ones mentioned? Like I said, I'm really loving Miami Vice right now and also making my way through MacGyver, which is a lot of fun. Next up is Knight Rider once I buy the Bluray set.

    • @TheNew80sRevolution
      @TheNew80sRevolution  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Phunkimunk since I have not watched the episodes in forever, I am most looking forward to knight rider just for nostalgia reasons. After I watch them, I'm sure I will have a new favorite
