The Chinese ship that is suspected to cut the sea cables between Finland and Germany also seemed to try to cut sea cables between Denmark and Sweden but missed because the sea cables are dug down and the anker dragging didn’t work.
Although Sweden does not have many submarines, they are as you know quite potent with their stealth tech. Any Russian sort of invasion fleet would have a really, really, bad time getting anywhere on the Baltic sea. The Baltic sea really is Sweden's backyard, and way back in history the Swedish Empire controlled over 70% of it, alone. The land where St. Petersburg is located was also once Swedish land, so by Putins logic, we should demand it back :)
@CombatReadyHQ 20:00 Sense i was a kind in the 1980is Russia has mini-subs that they use to penetrate Swedish coastal defence and archipelago. even bigger U-boat´s have been seen and caught. Some of it have been in the media. But there is a lot that never made it to media to keep it all down. People who live´s at the coast and in the archipelago have often seen Russian "Sqaud´s" operate like "rangers" . And they come with the mini-sub´s that more or less travel on the sea floor. Russian fishing ships and other types of ships are often used as cover to launch these mini-subs as clost as possible. But we also know that with mini sub´s they do travel from Kaliningrad over to Swedish territory. This is super common, and have been super common until 2014. After 2014 it has been less but still activity from the Russian "squad divers".
Sweden is moving to a four brigade force in a division structure with the army, a firth brigade was contemplated in the lower north of Sweden but the re-established regiments there where not in shape to take on that burden as well as fully re-establishing themselves. 1-2 brigades are earmarked for Finland those are the Arctic brigades which is the 19th and 4th they will integrate in the Finnish division in northern Finland allowing Finland to concentrate more forces in the populated south. One advantage Sweden has over Finland is that it's units are very equipment heavy there is lot's of armored vehicles and other equipment making the Two Swedish brigades a small contribution but one that's very suited to attacking and fighting Russian heavy units. The Finnish air force is expected to go the opposite direction and use Sweden as it's basing area only using Finnish bases for rearming refueling and air defence while support and repair functions are in Sweden where they are safer from Russian strikes.
One thing that worries me is that after the cold war, Sweden deactivated its reserve food and medicine stock. We currently have no stock of anything. It's up to every person themselves to figure this out.
Yup, we had stocks of everything, from oil to tobacco and coffee, which was intended to keep us supplied for half a year even if the country was blockaded.
Norway, Denmark, Germany, Poland and the Batlic States were all part of NATO before Sweden and Finland join. And at that time Sweden and Finland collaborated closely with NATO and important NATO Member States. So the Baltic area didnt suddenly turn into a "NATO lake" but for sure it was/is important that now the last two countries, less Russia, with coastlines along the Baltic sea, and Sweden also in Kattegatt etc joined NATO.
9:20 Well, that statement is about 400 years old, but still valid and correct then it comes to Russia and their threat against the Nordic region and Eastern Europe.
As they said, many Swedes never understood that we have not been neutral for 30+ years now. But, our Government have not been clear on that either. Secondly, we had our "partnership" with Finland, we had some stuff, the Fins had the other stuff, that made us two countries complete as military defence forces. And this many Swedes did not know either, they never understood WHY it was a disaster for us that we lost that partnership with Finland then they wanted and would join NATO. That ment that We Swedes would just have a "half" defence force. cuz the other half Finland had. So due to that, many "hippies" and Pro-Russian Swedes was a bit mad then 52% of of the people all of the sudden wanted to join NATO.
If you'd want to block some of Russia's most important and largest ports they are also located in the Baltic sea. They are the port of Saint Petersburg, Ust-Luga and Primatorsk.
I very much doubt that Turkey and Hungary would step in if a Western European country was attacked by Russia. They are sort the black sheep of NATO md would come up with an excuse. At least with today’s political climate in those two countries.
Only problem for NATO...is for NATO to convince that many different countries to work for the same goal. Try to tell 32 different people in peace time to agree on anything. It's the equivalent of what happened to Kitty Genovese or as it Is known today as the "Bystander Effect".
10:00 TBF WW3 already started then Russia stepped in to step 2 of the Ukrainian "campaign" in February 2022. People just don´t want it to be true and look away from it. putting their head in the sand. WW3 have been active sense 2022 simple as that, it is just not like WW1 or WW2 then it comes to how many nations who actively are fighting in the war.
Just love the Swedish costal rangers 16:24
16:00 i agree, and naive people usually look at us people who say that like we are the crazy people.

Everything like that is being traded up now
