Im 34 and in a long term relationship, no kids no plans for marriage yet. I will say I’ve never felt more happy in my skin and in the space and time in my life than I am now. When I was younger I did it all, I said yes to everything, I made plans with people that I didn’t know well and with life ling friends. I think my biggest take away with growing and making a life for yourself is to put yourself out there as much as you can. Say yes to everything even if it makes you uncomfortable because those experiences help you grow and I’ve never regretted any of them, even the bad ones. I am totally comfortable staying home and keeping it chill because I’ve done so much. And I’m totally fine now with leaving that behind for bigger and better things! I guess my advice is do it all while you have the freedom to do so!
I feel like a late bloomer and I'm even married. I just don't have kids (and don't exactly desire them which also makes me feel out of place around people who are married). But i also never finished school and am starting over with my career... at 35 :(
The kids thing is so stressful! I'm not even married and I had a friend with kids tell me I should have them and I was just like uh no??? and it makes you feel even more out of place but it shouldn't be like that. You got this!
On your point about your freeway anxiety. I noticed how the way our cities are built make it really easy to just be at home. Our lack of accessible public transit sucks and it would be awesome if we had the infrastructure to allow you to go to places regardless of your anxiety of freeways. Of course you eventually overcame it but imagine what could've been!
Yes! I wish it was easier and more accessible. Anaheim had introduced FRAN which allowed free trips around Anaheim but every time I tried to use it there would never be rides available and even then it was only specific locations so it never worked out lol Public transportation is needed badly in California! Just even my commute to work would be easier with it.
Oh no wishing you the best! Take it slow and step by step. I know people older and still figuring things out. It gets hard when you don’t see things happening. I find myself in this spot sometimes. For me I do things for me regardless how small, like going out to get coffee is a big deal and it makes me happy even if it’s a small part of my day.
girl we sound like the same person haha i relate to this so much especially with the friends thing. couple weekends ago i went to a girl coffee meetup and was so nervous. I never do events like that but I put myself out there and kinda made new friends lol
It’s time for another early 30s diaries!
Let me know if you relate and if there’s other topics you’d like to hear!
Awhhh girl!! I love you talking about your journey and what you're feeling
Thank you so much!

I turned 35 in June & I’ve definitely struggled with getting older but honestly 30’s are GREAT! I’ve never loved myself more than I do now.
Love that! I do feel like once 30s continues on it’s just a better vibe (: you feel more at peace with yourself!

I truly felt like 2020 made me a late early 30s bloomer if that makes sense. But we are all on our own journey and it's all beautiful. late or not. 💗
