Out of all the bearing maintenance videos this is the best I have come across. 3even if you deviate and do it your own way using alternative cleaning solutions it gives you a great foundation on how to do it, 5jankyou
Great tutorial. Finally someone who knows what they are saying. Half of these videos are saying use WD-40, or bones speed cream. (Only use bones speed cream AFTER you clean your bearings, otherwise it will make your bearings even dirtier once you skate them).
Good video mate BUT... I would use acetone rather than alcohol as alcohol might damage (a bit) the cage... At least according to Bones bearings on their ceramics...
Thanks for commenting and I've also read acetone is good to use. I prefer alcohol because it's easier to get and smells less when your doing it indoors. I think there both going to get your bearings clean
@@HDsharp Brake cleaner might be ok for the metal bearings but it could eat the rubber seals. Alcohol can also be hard on the rubber and dry it out. The best solvent is 100% acetone.
@@antipeacebmx I clean my bearings in Alcohol, they still work great and I skate hundreds of miles. If this person is unwilling the reveal why you shouldn't clean your bearings in alcohol but is willing to leave a comment saying you shouldn't you can assume their opinion is not of value and their just not a nice person.

For some reason you put in the effort of saying you won't give up your precious knowledge when it would have been just as easy to share what you know (like how people usually act when asked a question). Good tutorial. But one thing... if you have 100 percent ceramic bearings, the oil is unneeded.
I suggest you rinse them more than once.

He did say that prior to opening them. There is a single ceramic one in the set to polish the channel.

Very much misleading. Ceramic bearing don't need oil or lube.
