My DIY Inground Pool Opening Experience! | Big Mistake? 🌊

  • Today I am showing you my experience on a DIY inground pool opening! This is the first time I have ever tried this big of swimming pool maintenance on my own as a home owner. Was this a big mistake or was this easier than I thought it would to be to take care of an inground pool?

Honestly can’t wait to see it sparkling in the summer sun! You know what’s be really cool? Crafting a bunch of Corsolas out of some dense, sinkable material, and just peppering the floor of that pool with them!

When you turn the dial on the filter, you should only turn it clockwise because you could destroy the spiderweb turning it counterclockwise and never back track on it

Also, never apply chemicals directly to the pool, you need to dilute them in water first.

Nice video! I just started opening and closing my pool myself last year. FYI on the antifreeze bottle in the skimmer...it was put there on purpose along with the green gizmo. The goal is to have any ice that builds up to crush the bottle and gizmo instead of cracking and damaging the skimmer. The fact that the bottle was crushed in like it was shows that it did it's job. And next time push it out instead of trying to pull it up through the hole...much easier. 😀

I put a tarp over my inground pool and secure it with some water bags. When we drain and pull off the cover we have a clean pool. When we have it closed, they shock the hell out it. When we open it in April, we shock it again and get all the chemistry right.

Those gauges always give me issues. I swear sand gets in them when backwashing or something, or maybe water gets in and they freeze up so the needle doesn't go back to 0. I ended up building my own digital LED gauge so I could accurately measure my filter pressure.

Don't think it should be 0? The system should always have pressure to function properly. I think.

BreakingNate You know how there are some in ground pools, how they have this cover that automatically covers the pool for you so you don't have to cover it yourself? Have you considered getting something like that so you don't have to worry about putting on a cover.

Hello, Nate. I received a random message to telegram you for a prize. However, it seems someone is trying to bamboozle me into giving them $200 for a delivery fee for a company that doesn't exist. Would really like to know if this is true or not as at the moment I'm speaking to them. Two profiles both saying they're you.
