Good job! I saw them in I think early March 1988 at Oliver J’s in Allentown, PA and heard them for the first time. They played with Arresting Officers, and Sticks and Stones. Great show in a tiny club!
I first heard Smiling My life away on Oi! Chartbusters vol 4?? If My aging brain remembers correctly. Never been able to track down the single over the years. This band is a complete mystery to Me,I know nothing bout em!!
The Uprise were never featured on an album of the Oi! Chartbusters-Series. And "Smiling my life away" is a track from english band The Case (hailing from Croydon). The Uprise had released 2 tracks on Link Records "The US of OI!" Compilation and Mark Brennan/Link also planned an album with The Uprise, unfortunately the band have split before but the recordings for the planned album still exists.

I still have a pile of the 7 inch and found one shirt in my cedar trunk... we used to hang out with them at city gardens ..... lost track of Rob, Matt, and Scott.... heard Jim went crazy and died a while back.... used to see them.on south street a lot.....
@@bugmn99 that sucks to hear, I lost track of him around the time I hot married, an ex gf that lived in philly knew him... tried helping him.out a little, heard he was going through a lot with addiction and a few other things, lost track of the Andersons too. May and Scott were good guys... rob was jus rob heard he stayed with music for a while
