- A massive wildfire in California is spreading rapidly at a rate of eight square miles an hour, threatening thousands of homes and forcing people to flee.
More than 130 homes have already been destroyed by the Park Fire, the state's largest wildfire of the year so far, which covered 480sq miles (1,243sq km) on Friday evening.
It started in Butte County on Wednesday and has been moving quickly north and eastwards since then. A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fire over reports he pushed a burning car into a gully in Chico before fleeing the scene.

A wildfire is an unplanned, unwanted fire burning in a natural area, such as a forest, grassland, or prairie.
Its not WILDFIRE as it was planned and set by a human.. This is a PLANNEDFIRE..
This is a result of tectonic plate activity. That man is a scapegoat because the government refuses to warn their citizens about the real problem.
The Atlantic ocean is widening while the Pacific is being compressed. Plate subduction causes pockets of molten rock to build up and collect just below the surface and superheat the entire region. The heat is emanating from underground.

Sadly I think that would take a miracle in the area covered to not be a lot. Esp where it started. I'm baffled set a car on fire & push into dry woods. If it's classed as worst seen in CA it's gonna be bad.

To put it in perspective it is 3 times the size of the city of Sacramento four times the size of the city of San Francisco
this is why i left ca and moved to a very wet and rainy state so i dont have to deal with the yearly fires
It made an eight mile run, jumped a prepared control line at Hwy 36, at midnight it was measured at over 300,000 acres, a sizeable increase from 240,000 measured at 7pm.
How close is this fire to Oak Run at the moment

It was the Camp fire in 2018.

When Trump was President, he asked California where the money went. Insinuating the money was stolen. He was mocked for saying the Forest floors should be raked, and was made fun of. Our National Parks do rake their floors. I have seen this done in the Grand Canyon area.

there are thousands of california wildfires every year . . . last year was pretty light though. 40 million people in a dry state . . . the odds at least one person will do something accidental are 100%. A lot of thees fires believe it or not are started by people trying to preven fire.
